So pathetic 😢
“Life happened to me” — Nigerian boy Richard Abraham reveals how he stopped going to school after løsing his mother and became a bricklayer.
Richard Abraham, one of the students who represented Aguata Zone at the state level during the 2021 Governor’s Debate in Anambra State, has opened up about the heartbreaking circumstances that forced him to abandon his education.
Richard was reportedly one of the outstanding speakers during the debate and was given the title “Honourable” by the then Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.
Years later, one of his former teachers recently ran into him around Federal Polytechnic Oko and was $hocked to learn what had happened to the promising young student.
According to the teacher, Richard lost his mother in 2022, shortly after the debate, and subsequently l0st communication with him. Efforts to reach him reportedly proved unsuccessful.
The teacher said Richard became an orphan after his mother’s d£. Coming from a polygamous family, he was allegedly r£jected and th¥own out by his half-siblings, who reportedly did not support their father’s marriage to Richard’s mother.
With no one to support him, Richard was unable to continue his education. He reportedly did not sit for his WASSCE in 2022 alongside his classmates.
Instead, he was forced to fend for himself, sleeping in uncompleted buildings and taking up various odd jobs just to survive.
Richard is now working as a bricklayer to make a living.
His former teacher described his situation as heartbr£aking, saying:
“Little did I know he was running from the world that failed him.”
The teacher also praised Richard for refusing to turn to cr!me despite the difficult circumstances he faced, describing it as one of the most remarkable things about his story.
