It is surprising that no mention was made of the recent recognition of the Southwest Security Network(Amotekun) by the United Nations UN at the ongoing Southwest Stake Holders Dialogue holding in Akure, Ondo State capital. The international body also declared July 7 of every year Amotekun day. This development is a commendation of the unwavering efforts of the Southwest Governors Forum to secure lives and property of their people in the face of the precarious situation in Nigeria. What need to be done is proper funding and a rejig of the security outfit. It is pertinent to involve the Oodua Investment conglomerate, the SWDC and of course the Southwest governors who birth the idea of Amotekun. The stake holders must ensure the issue of Amotekun take the front burner in subsequent dialogue . OWO VOICE wishes participants happy deliberations.
