‎[Scene: A spirited, but slightly nervous, beginner designer (Alex) gets feedback from a seasoned pro (Jara) on their very busy first project.]

‎Jara: "Alex, thank you for sharing your first project! It's... certainly got energy. I see the drop shadow, the four different fonts, the gradient overlay, the subtle texture... you really wanted to use everything we covered in the last two weeks, didn't you?"
‎
‎Alex: (Wincing) "Guilty. I felt like if I wasn't showcasing every technique, I wasn't being creative enough. I just kept thinking about contrast, alignment, typography rules, color theory... It was exhausting."
‎
‎Jara: (Smiling warmly) "And that, my friend, is the classic beginner trap. You’re trying to command the brain to manage a thousand rules at once, instead of letting the mind simply flow."
‎
‎💡 The Truth Bomb: Creativity isn't about using all the available tools in your Photoshop arsenal simultaneously. It's the art of subtraction, of letting the feeling and the idea—the Mind—dictate the process. The Brain (your knowledge of rules) is a powerful editor, but it should be the second step. The Hand (or mouse/tablet) simply follows the Mind, then the Brain refines.

‎Jara: "Remember the famous quote: 'If you are not embarrassed by your first project, you started too late.' That busy piece is your badge of honor! It means you're learning. But here's your challenge for the next one: Lighten up. Step away from the 'Toolbox.' Simplify. Ask yourself: 'What is the least I need to say this?'"

‎Alex: "So, less... more?"
‎
Jara: "Exactly. Less effort from the brain, more trust in the mind. Every expert you admire has that over-designed, rule-heavy 'first project' in their portfolio graveyard. It’s a necessary phase."

When we say this student started as a complete beginner, we mean it. Her journey from a blank canvas to creating these thoughtful and intentional pieces is a true testament to her dedication and the impact of our training.

Graduation Celebration: First In-Person Graphic Design Class; JULY 25, 2025.

We're thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our very first in-person graphic design students! What a journey it's been—starting with vibrant energy, building through a spectrum of learning, and ending with a brilliant, saturated finish.

These students were truly exceptional from day one. Their dedication and talent shone brightly throughout the course, and we couldn't be prouder of their accomplishments. A huge thank you to God Almighty, our incredible instructors, dedicated facilitators, and supportive partners who all played a vital role in making this a success.

We know many aspiring designers from across Nigeria and around the world wanted to join this physical class. Unfortunately, due to limited facilities and capacity, we weren't able to accommodate everyone. We appreciate the immense interest and are excited about what's next.

Seeing the fantastic work our students are already producing—both in organizations and in their communities—is incredibly rewarding. The impact they're making is a testament to their hard work and the quality of their education, whether they took the course in-person or online.

Stay tuned! We'll soon be relaunching the graphic design course, along with introducing brand new tech courses led by seasoned tutors. The future is bright, and we can't wait to see what you'll create.

‎First, consider upgrading to advanced project management tools. While simpler tools work for individual tasks, more robust platforms are invaluable when you're tracking multiple complex projects, managing dependencies between tasks, and coordinating with a larger team. They provide a clearer overview and streamline collaboration.
‎
‎Next, try batching similar tasks. Instead of jumping back and forth between different types of work, group "email responses," "feedback rounds," or "asset exports." This minimizes context switching, allowing you to get into a flow and complete these repetitive tasks much faster and with greater focus.
