MESSAGE OF GRATITUDE
ON THE 3RD YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MY TURBANING AS KHADEEMUL-L-MUSLIMEEN OF OYO ALAAFIN
Bismillฤh ir-Raแธฅmฤn ir-Raแธฅฤซm
All praise is due to Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, who grants honour and responsibility to whom He wills. Peace and blessings be upon our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his family, companions, and all those who follow his path till the Day of Judgment.
Today, 28th April, marks exactly three years since I was turbanned as the Khadeemul-l-Muslimeen of Oyo Alaafin. I remain deeply humbled by this great responsibility and the trust reposed in me by the Muslim community and the entire Oyo Alaafin.
I wish to express my sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all our respected scholars, elders, leaders, brothers, sisters, and the youth who have stood firmly with me on this journey. Your unwavering support, prayers, counsel, and cooperation have been instrumental in every modest achievement recorded so far.
Over these three years, whatever impact we have made in strengthening Islamic values, promoting unity, supporting community development projects, and uplifting the less privileged has only been by the will of Allah and through your collective efforts. From initiatives aimed at youth development and religious enlightenment to interventions in community welfare and peaceful coexistence, I am constantly reminded that leadership is truly a trust (amanah) that must be upheld with sincerity and fear of Allah.
I do not see this anniversary as a celebration of self, but as a moment of reflection, accountability, and renewed commitment to serve Islam and humanity better.
I acknowledge that much more remains to be done, and I seek your continuous support, advice, and prayers as we strive together on this noble path.
I pray that Allah (SWT) accepts our efforts as acts
of โibadah, forgives our shortcomings, and continues to guide us aright. May He strengthen our unity, bless our land, and grant us the ability to leave behind a legacy of righteousness and service.
