INSECURITY AND THE NEED FOR SELF-DETERMINED ACTION

Insecurity continues to plague Plateau State and many parts of Nigeria, leaving families devastated, communities in fear, and futures uncertain. While we acknowledge the government's responsibility to protect lives and property, the painful reality is that waiting in silence has cost us too much already.

Now more than ever, we must rise — not in violence, but in unity, vigilance, and purpose. Our safety cannot be outsourced entirely. We must organize ourselves, protect our communities, and support one another. Through community vigilance groups, early warning systems, and partnerships with responsible security agencies, we can reclaim a sense of control and dignity.

To the people of Plateau State and Nigerians at large: let this be a time of awakening. Let us be proactive, not passive. Let us strengthen our bonds, build resilience, and stand firm against fear. Our lives matter, and it is up to us to protect them.

We are stronger together — united in purpose, grounded in hope, and committed to our own survival.

May the peace of Plateau state be restored ....IJN

😭😭😭😭PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT APPEALS FOR CALM FOLLOWING ATTACK IN BIDI (JEBU) COMMUNITY, RIYOM LGA

The Plateau State Government is deeply saddened by the unfortunate attack on Bidi (Jebu) community of Tahoss village in Riyom Local Government Area on Monday, 14th July, 2025, which led to the loss of lives and properties .

This senseless act of violence by yet to be identified gunmen is strongly condemned and unacceptable.
Government sympathizes with the families of the victims and all those affected by this tragic incident.

His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has directed security agencies to intensify surveillance and bring the perpetrators to justice through additional deployment of troops.

Government is appealing to the people of Bidi, Sopp, and surrounding communities to remain calm, be vigilant, avoid any form of retaliation,report any suspicious activities to Authorises and cooperate with security agencies.

Security remains our collective responsibility, and Government is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
