However, beneath the surface, Ryan's feelings for Ava had begun to fade. He found himself drawn to a new colleague, Sophia, at his office. The attention and admiration Sophia gave him reignited a spark Ryan thought he'd lost.
As Ryan's affair with Sophia progressed, he became increasingly distant from Ava. He'd work late nights, claiming project deadlines, but secretly meet Sophia. Ava sensed something was wrong but couldn't quite put her finger on it.
One fateful evening, Ava decided to surprise Ryan at his office. She arrived to find him laughing and chatting with Sophia. The scene unfolded like a slow-motion nightmare. Ava's instincts screamed at her to flee, but her legs felt heavy, rooted to the spot.
Ryan's eyes locked onto Ava's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The guilt and shame were written all over his face. Sophia, sensing the tension, quickly excused herself.
"Ava, I...," Ryan started, but Ava turned and ran.
She didn't know where she was going, but she knew she couldn't face Ryan right then. The pain and betrayal felt like a knife to her heart. As she drove away, tears streaming down her face, Ava wondered how she'd missed the signs. Had she been blind to Ryan's infidelity?
