Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has recounted how he nominated Professor Yemi Osinbajo as President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in 2015.

Tinubu, while speaking with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Thursday, said Buhari had before the election approached him to be his running mate, because he had failed with every other person he picked as running mates in his earlier attempts.

The presidential aspirant stressed that it was former Senate President Bukola Saraki that thwarted the plan by playing the Muslim-Muslim ticket gambit.

He said that he single-handedly nominated Osinbajo to occupy the post originally given to him.

“I gave Osinbajo my right to be Vice President. You’re hearing this from me for the first time. That’s the truth,” Tinubu said.

The president made the request in his address during a meeting with the Progressives Governors Forum in Abuja on Tuesday,Offixal reporters gathered.

According to Buhari, the state governors were given the opportunity to pick their successor, asking them to allow him do same at the federal level.

A Nigerian soldier identified as K Ibrahim has been killed by a yet-to-be-identified policeman in Adamawa State,Offixal reporters has learned.

Military sources told Offixal reporters journalists on ground that the incident happened on Sunday evening along the Numan-Jalingo Road.

The police officer and his colleagues were said to be under the influence of alcohol.


It was gathered that the development caused pandemonium along the axis.


A military signal obtained by Newsxpress and affiliate to Offixal reporters also confirmed the incident.

Kanunta, a brother of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has suggested why Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State lost at the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primary election.

He alleged that the IPOB and those killed during the massacre of Obigbo were responsible for Wike’s loss at the PDP primaries.

In a tweet, Kanunta dismissed claims that Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto betrayed Wike.

According to Kanunta: “Neither the North, nor Tambuwal betrayed . Nor was it any Southern disunity.

“It was KARMA that nailed him. The Karma of . The was also a factor.

“Clue: Late Buhari won despite his open support for BokoHaram.”

During the PDP primaries in Abuja, Tambuwal had stepped down for the eventual winner, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku emerged as PDP’s candidate after polling the highest number of votes.

Some Nigerians had accused Tambuwal of betraying Wike.
