Metro3-storey building accommodating varsity students collapses in Ebonyi

A section of Pentagon Lodge, a building accommodating some students of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo (AE-FUNAI) in Ebonyi State, collapsed on Friday afternoon.

The three-storey building reportedly developed cracks before the incident, prompting some students to vacate the premises.

At the time of filing this report, no casualties had been confirmed, though several students’ belongings were believed to still be inside, particularly those who had travelled out of town.

Sources within the school environment indicate that Pentagon Lodge comprises five different blocks, and a portion of one of the blocks collapsed.

spreading lies about Nigeria – Dabiri-Erewa faults Badenoch’s claim on Nigerian citizenship

The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has criticised UK Conservative politician Kemi Badenoch of Nigerian descent over what she described as false claims regarding Nigerian women and citizenship rights.

Badenoch, speaking in an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, had claimed she could not pass on her Nigerian citizenship to her children because of her gender.

While discussing immigration policies and comparing Britain with countries like Nigeria, Badenoch said:

“It’s virtually impossible, for example, to get Nigerian citizenship. I have that citizenship by virtue of my parents, I can’t give it to my children because I’m a woman.”

However, during an interview on Friday, Dabiri-Erewa dismissed Badenoch’s statement as misleading, clarifying that women can, in fact, confer Nigerian citizenship on their children.

“But that is not even true. And that is the problem I have. Don’t divulge false information. You go on international media and spew a lie. That is a lie. But that is not even true. And I’m sure people have responded. So my problem with that is that it is not true. So why tell us something that is not true? That is the problem I have with that,” she said.

On the 13th of July 2025, peller a Nigerian streamer organized an interview for a camera holder. He invited both graduate and Msc holders.

My annoyance here is why should an MCS holder attend such an interview? You should know how to rate yourself. Common sense should let you know that isa wasted effort to attend such an interview. Who is a camera holder? Is that a skill, degree or what. Always work with your instincts.

He was 82 years old at the time of his death.
