Nigerian Man Issues Strong Warning to Men: “Marry a Single Mother at Your Own Risk”

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share a deeply personal and bitter experience, cautioning his “fellow brothers” against entering relationships with single mothers, particularly those with children from previous relationships.

In a lengthy account, the man, who chose to remain anonymous in the post, detailed his turbulent relationship with a woman identified as Quinta, a nurse and single mother of twins (two daughters). He claims the experience left him with lasting regret and no peace of mind.

According to his story, he met Quinta in 2022. At the time, she was raising twin daughters aged three from a previous “toxic” relationship, with the children staying with their grandmother in the village while she worked in the city. The man stated he was initially unbothered because the children were not living with her.

The couple dated for eight months before she became pregnant with his child. Tragedy struck when her mother passed away while she was seven months pregnant, leading to the twins relocating to the city to live with their mother.

This development, he said, became a major source of conflict. He claimed he had made it clear from early in the relationship that he wanted nothing to do with “another man’s children” and had warned her against bringing the twins around. When the children arrived after the grandmother’s funeral, he allegedly advised her to return them to their biological father, who is alive. She reportedly refused, citing concerns about the father’s new wife and past rejection.

The man said he tolerated the situation temporarily due to her pregnancy but grew increasingly frustrated. After numerous arguments over the children’s presence even after she gave birth to their daughter, he ended the relationship.

He later married another woman described as “obedient and respectful,” with whom he does not yet have children. However, ongoing disputes with Quinta persist over their daughter. He accuses her of refusing to hand over the child and allegedly using the daughter as leverage to secure financial support that indirectly benefits her other two children.

“My mind was deceived into thinking I was in love,” he wrote. “Since then, I’ve had no peace of mind. I can’t be financing my child’s upkeep from my sweat and also involving another man’s kids that aren’t mine.”

The man concluded with a direct message to Quinta: “If you think you can use me to feed your children, think again… I won’t stop exposing you until you hand over my daughter.”

He urged Nigerian men seeking peace in relationships to “steer clear of any single mom as a whole,” describing his experience as a cautionary tale from someone who has “been there.”
