𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐎𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐃𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐔𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒, "𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖", "𝐔𝐌", "𝐔𝐇"?

Those words you see up there are called, Filler Words.

Filler words are words or phrases that are used in speech to fill pauses or gaps in conversation, OFTEN WITHOUT ADDING ANY MEANING CONTENT TO THE MESSAGE.

Read those words in caps lock again.

Using filler words doesn't make you sound woke or intelligent. Instead, inserting these words here and there sells you out as, unprepared, someone who doesn't take time to put his or her thoughts together before taking.

Filler words may appear unharmful, but they are really harmful as they have the potential to dilute the potency of your message and hinder your ability to engage and persuade.

Filler words can create a perception of uncertainty or unpreparedness, impacting your professional presence.

In communication, every word count. So, you must be very purposeful with your words, intentionally speak and make those words count

Dear Freelancers,
I hope what I am about to say meets you well.

When employers seek candidates with
top-notch communication abilities, all they are asking for is;

1. Speak to express not to impress

2. The ability to artfully convey ideas, information, and messages in a clear concise, and understandable manner.

This includes the capacity to express thoughts, actively listen, write what readers can understand, and adapt communication styles to diverse
audiences and situations.

This is what they are not asking for;

1. Speak to impress

2. Use ambiguous words to wow your listeners or readers.

3. Borrow an accent you don't have.

A CV (Curriculum Vitae) and a resume are both documents used for job applications, but they have some key differences:

1. Length:
- CV: Typically longer and more detailed, often spanning multiple pages. It includes a comprehensive list of academic and professional achievements.
- Resume: Generally shorter, usually limited to one or two pages, focusing on relevant work experience and skills.

2. Purpose:
- CV: Commonly used for academic, research, and international job applications. It emphasizes academic qualifications, research, publications, and presentations.
- Resume: Used for most job applications in the business world. It emphasizes work experience, skills, and qualifications related to the specific job.

3. Content:
- CV: Includes a detailed academic and professional history, such as publications, conferences, grants, awards, and research experience.
- Resume: Focuses on a concise summary of work history, skills, achievements, and qualifications relevant to the job.

4. Flexibility:
- CV: Less flexible in terms of formatting and content, as it follows a standard format for academic and research positions.
- Resume: More flexible and can be tailored for different job opportunities by highlighting specific skills and experiences.

In summary, the choice between a CV and a resume depends on the type of job and the industry. CVs are commonly used in academia and research, while resumes are the standard for most other job applications.
