I know of a Facebook business owner who went viral a few months ago but got nothing out of it.

She had just concluded her first degree in the south east and so,

She moved down to Lagos in search of greener pastures.

I have a favorite quote that says

" Show up intentionally, show up ready... You will never tell which day you will be lucky"

But maybe she never came across that quote,

And so she wrote a story of her experience in Lagos for the couple of days that she has spent in the city already.

And boom!!!

39,000 likes with over 5,000 Comments on a single post.

Something that she has never experienced before in all her days of showing up for her business.

But guess what!!!

No leads came from that post.

No sales came from that post

Not even new followers.

As painful as it sounds,

That is what most brands and founders face right now.

Gaining virality with nothing to show for it.

Chasing virality with no plans to sustain it.

If you think the reason why you have not made massive sales in your business is because you are yet to go viral,

Then you need to Unlearn some certain things.

Lack of virality isn't the cause of your poor sales and chasing virality won't fix it either....

Chioma knows that she has the solution that her ideal market is looking for.

She knows her product is what her ideal market is looking for.

But not only that, she works tirelessly to ensure her business becomes a global one but it's as though her efforts are not okay.

Let me tell you a little story about Chioma.

One year ago, she had just lost her four years business due to a staff negligence...

It was so tough for her, that she started a session with a therapist.

After which, she started afresh but this time with a clear vision of who she truly wants to serve...

But a clear vision won't bring in the money into the business,

Sales will do but Chioma wasn't getting any.

She had her favorite creators on LinkedIn and Instagram who she never fails to listen to every 6.am in the morning.

They all say one thing to her:

💚 Show up consistently

💚 Post frequently

💚 Engage always

Chioma follows the rules so religiously and yet, nothing to show for it.

"Are my favorite creators lying to me or am I not doing the right thing"...

Chioma asked herself, almost ready to quit the business.

This is her one year of starting afresh but she has not made any sales.

Her product is top notch and she has a presence online,

How bad again can it be?

But this is what Chioma didn't know and her favorite creators didn't tell her

💚Showing up only won't convert anything.

"I want to lose 10 kg in one month"

I said to myself after I had climbed the weight scale and saw what I weighed.

I mean, it wasn't even that bad.

I was just weighing 75 kg but I wanted to lose a little to 65 kg.

And so, I gave myself a target.

"To lose 10 kg in one month"

So I started practicing the possible things that could give me the results,

Not minding that I was a near ulcer patient,

✅I skipped breakfast

✅ I walked miles but never up to 10000 steps in a day😂

✅ Tried so many times to skip dinner but the flesh was weak😂😂

But guess what!!

After one month and when I climbed the scale again,

I added more kg instead of losing it😭

But here's the bottom line of what you don't know yet,

Your sales system is still messed up and that's why you are yet to make profits.

It deserves some cleanup and it's not just by cleaning it up randomly or doing a guess up,

You tweak and adjust strategies here and there, all the time,

But that won't give you the results you want.

For you to be able to triple up your sales in two months as a business,

There are compulsory things that must be on your sales system to make it work.

The question is,

Do you have a sales system at all?

Or are you just exchanging your products for money without knowing the root of it?

While growing up as a young girl, I knew someone who felt pain for many years.

When I saw the highlighted quote in this book, I instantly remembered him and my heart felt heavy.

For someone whose land which was his only means of survival as at that time,

Was taken from him forcefully by the higher authorities and was forced to shut up,

He held the grudges continuously in his heart until he couldn't bear it and he died.

You could tell how much pain he felt everyday,

And how much he wanted to do something about it but knowing that he couldn't do anything kept him more offended

But here's the thing,

Pain is inevitable.

It will come in various forms, manner and shape,

But knowing which to keep and which to let go saves your life by 20 years more.

As painful as it may sound,

✅It is wisdom to know that there are some certain things not worth fighting for.

✅ It is not all grudges that you need to hold onto, let go of some.

Of what benefit will it be to you that you hold onto a pain that nothing can be done about it,

When the offender lives carefree as though it never happened.

You deserve every happiness in your lifetime, no matter how rough your journey seems but,

You can only create this happiness yourself.

No one else will.

Holding onto the pain won't do you good.

It's been five years since it happened to you,

Let it go and embrace the present that you are in.

It's not as though I don't understand how you feel,

You have every right to feel the way you are,

But it will be healthier for you to let go and create the happiness you can for yourself.

Cut down your expectations!!!

Don't beat yourself over every little disappointment you encounter as a founder...

✅ It's okay for you to make sales below your expectations on your first day of launch.

It's not because of poor planning or poor products,

It probably just happens.

✅ It's okay for you to pitch to an investor and get ignored.

It doesn't mean that you are not valuable,

It just happens.

✅ It's still okay for you to put in all the strategies and not get any results immediately,

Don't beat yourself up.

Results don't always come how we want it.

✅ It's okay to make business/financial mistakes or take risks that backfired your brand,

It doesn't mean that you are not smart but it's definitely not possible for you to know it all...

The earlier you understand that something beyond your control will definitely happen,

The quicker you pick up yourself and face the things that are truly converting for your brand.

Don't beat yourself over every setback or disappointment you encounter while building your brand,

You will only be setting yourself back the more...

No one will blow your trumpet for you!

Read this till the end before your competitor does!

There's this man I admire so much in my workplace,

You wouldn't be around him and not love him because of how jovial he is but beyond that,

I realized he did this particular thing consistently.

Not the eye service kind of thing but,

He speaks good of himself in any place and any time,

He doesn't let you belittle him and he does it in all gentleness...

its not as if I'm crushing on anyone though🙈🙈 and,

I'm not talking about positive declarations and words of affirmations either.

I see founders and brands struggle to draw quality clients to their websites and make actual sales,

Some are totally confused on which step to take to pull in the traffic of customers to their business while,

Some think that all they need is to go viral..

But none of these things bothering you is true especially if you are in any of this category that I just mentioned now.

Spend 1 hour with the man in my workplace and half of the time, he will always say one thing..

"I am good at my job"

Even when he makes some mistakes or skips one or two things,

He repeats " I am good at my job" with so much confidence that,

You begin to agree with him that he's actually good at his job.

The first strategy you need as a founder and a brand ,

To be able to pull in numbers in your websites and convert them to buy is,

Audacity and Confidence!!!!

✅ That your brand is the best and gives only the best.

✅ That your products are satisfactory and top -notch.

The more you repeat this again and again,

The more your ideal market begins to think in the same direction and will have no choice than to agree that you are the best.

That is exactly how you win first!!!

So when next you want to complain of low sales or zero clients,

Be sure you are confident enough to actually sell.

I judged a book two days ago.

After hours of working out the brain and the eyes,

I decided to stretch myself a little and that was how I found myself in a mall,

Since Christmas is almost here, I decided to do some window shopping and then,

My eyes caught this book.

It was titled " The business secrets" and for a few seconds, I thought I had gotten a must read this Month.

You know the familiar rule that says,

"Don't judge a book by it's cover"

Well, I obeyed the rule.

I hurriedly stretched out my right hand to get it and I stood for a while trying to make a buying decision,

Just by glancing through it.

In between lines, I realized that the book wasn't written for me.

The information in between lines was valuable no doubt,

But that wasn't the kind of book that I read.

Picking it home will obviously mean filling up my shelf without the knowledge in my head...

And so, I dropped it.

Lessons I want you to pick from this:

✅ Somethings can be good but not good enough for you.

✅ Some certain decisions you make won't be valid to you until you have experienced it in real time..

✅ Make it a habit not to judge from afar. You will be wrong in most cases...

Deep down, you are scared that no one will ever buy from you.

Oftentimes that I talk with business owners in and out of this space, they always say similar things like:

“I’m doing everything, posting content, showing up online, but I’m not getting clients,”

And somehow, when I manage to ask them what their process for turning attention into revenue is,

They just go blank and it's totally okay to not have it all figured out.

But the bitter truth is that,

Many of us are just doing a trial and error affair.

You post, wait, hope and anticipate results

And when results don’t come, you assume something’s wrong with us or our product.

I realized mine on time and instead of doing a trial and error affair,

I started doing these three things instead.

Nothing complicated.

Just structure and Intention.

No 1.

✅Lead Generation (Attracting the right people)

I start with a lead magnet, something valuable enough to make people raise their hands.

Most times, it's usually a free guide, or a free training, or a valuable post that solves a specific pain point for my community.

You don't need everyone to notice you.

You only need to attract the right people who already need what you offer.

So here's a simple task that I have for you

Create one thing that makes people curious to know more about your products and services this week.

No 2:

✅Warm Conversations (Building real connection)

Once people show interest, I don’t pitch immediately.

I start warm conversations even in DMs

I ask questions.

I listen.

I engage with their content and understand what they actually need.

That’s how trust is built.

So before you pitch, talk.

Before you sell, connect.

Before you ask, give.

No 3:

✅The Offer (Solving their pain with irresistible clarity)
When I finally make an offer, I don’t just drop a price.

I paint a picture of the transformation it will bring?

Then, I sweeten the deal with bonuses: free consultation, templates, resources or anything that makes the decision easier.

I can do same for your brand if you will allow me fix your sales process.

Instead of selling your product,

Start selling the outcome.

Always ask yourself this question 👇👇

What will my client’s life look like after saying yes to me?

These three strategies (Lead generation ,Warm Conversation, Offer) might sound simple,

But it’s exactly what separates struggling founders from consistent closers.

If you apply this, you’ll realize selling online doesn’t have to feel like chasing shadows.

It’s just about building a clear path for your audience to walk through step by step.

I struggle to lie till date

Not that I don't lie but, it's a rare occurrence.

I grew up with a father who never tolerated lies no matter how little it is.

I was once beaten because I said the truth but he assumed it was a lie because he thought my younger ones were never capable of committing such..

Since then, I just knew lying in my family won't do me any good..

Fast forward till today,

I still find that honest part of me as my most treasured attribute.

I try as much as possible not to put myself in situations where I have to start making up lies to bail myself and,

Regardless of who is involved, I try to be honest even though it hurts...

And somehow again, I value honesty and will always choose to be told the truth.

Now here's another thing,

Most of the things we do or experience now as adults or when we are of age didn't just happen in a day.

It was a stack of experiences, lessons and similar events...

Now, let's juggle down your memory lane a little...

If you just turned 35 and you don't want to keep chasing clients every month,

Then you should do these 3 things immediately:

Normally,

At this point in your journey, you should not be:

❌ Guessing where your next client is coming from

❌Posting content all day but getting no leads

❌Having one good month and then nothing the next.
❌ Lowering your price just to get someone to say yes.

So if you are still doing any of these things,

You are officially guilty.

But these 3 simple things that I tell founders everyday will help you:

Number One

✅ Set up a system that brings in leads even you are not online.

You don't need to be online 24/7 before you can get a lead.

If you are online 24/7 for leads,

You will just get fatigue and burnouts.

All you have to do is make it easy for people to find you and take action simply by setting up a system

A system as simple as:

Giving out one freebie or offer that grabs attention and a clear place where they can reach you(DM or Form),

Converts more than the 100 content you have published in three months that yeilded no results.

Number Two

✅ Stop wasting time on unqualified calls.

Save yourself the stress and reserve your energy for the best.

Following up on every discovery calls or "how much do you charge" kind of calls doesn't necessarily mean you are getting leads or that you are about to close a deal,

I know the excitement that comes with knowing you are being booked or that someone is indicating interest in your product but that is not enough,

Because the calls can drop and they might never buy,

Which means that they were not qualified in the first place.

So to save stress, Qualify the leads before the discovery calls and the easiest way to achieve this is by,

Simply setting out a form that answers questions regarding the call and gives clear info about the offer and every other thing that they must know.

This will straighten their decision on whether to proceed with booking for the call or not.

It will also protect your energy and make you work with people that are ready.

Number Three

✅Build and know your full sales process step by step...

Like the A-Z of your target audience buying process should be at your finger tips.

Before you complain that no one buys from you ...

Do you know;

A. Where your leads come from?

B. How many steps it takes you to turn your leads into paying clients?

C. The reason why some people don't buy..

The shocking part is,

You might probably not have answers to any of these questions,

And that's because you treat sales as though it's a guessing game.

For you not to chase clients,

You need a full knowledge of your sales process from your first DM to the final yes,

That way, You can be able to know what's working and what is not and be able to attract them..
