People are fighting silent battles, so be the reason someone smiles today because everywhere you turn in this country, you see it, frustration written on people’s faces.
Transport fare has doubled, food price no dey smile, and even the most hardworking people dey whisper under their breath, “How will I survive today?”
But you know one thing? In the middle of all this wahala, you and I can still be somebody’s reason to smile.
That ₦500 airtime you dash someone, that “how are you holding up?” text, that little bag of rice you share, that seat you give up in a bus, it might not change the economy, but it can change somebody’s day.
Nigeria is bleeding, yes. But imagine if we all choose to be each other’s bandage.
Imagine if instead of pouring more anger, we poured kindness. One smile at a time, one helping hand at a time , light will begin to push back the darkness.
You don’t need to be rich before you help. Sometimes, just listening to someone’s story without judgment is help.
Just cracking a joke and making a tired soul laugh is help. Just praying for a friend who has no strength left is help.
The truth is, we can’t control everything happening around us. But we can control how we treat people.
And if we decide that everyone we meet will leave a little lighter than they came, we’d be changing Nigeria in our own little way.
So today, don’t just chase survival. Be someone’s safe space. Be someone’s reminder that good people still exist. Be someone’s reason to believe in hope again.
Who are you making happy today? Think!
