The Kaiama District of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has successfully held its Maiden Choir Day in an atmosphere filled with praise, worship, thanksgiving, and spiritual reflection. The historic event brought together choristers, church members, and invited guests in a joyful celebration of God's faithfulness and the impact of sacred music ministry.
Delivering the devotional message, the District Leader, Pastor Divine Samuel, spoke on the theme, "Let Everything That Has Breath Praise the Lord" (Psalm 150:6). He emphasized that the gift of life itself is a sufficient reason for every believer to continually praise God, noting that every breath is evidence of God's sustaining grace and mercy.
The occasion was further enriched by special musical ministrations from guest choirs representing the Igbogene District and Yenagoa District. Their inspiring performances added beauty, spiritual depth, and a spirit of unity to the celebration.
A major highlight of the program was a historical reflection presented by Pastor Sampson Kingsley Chinkaa, who recounted the re-establishment of the Kaiama District Choir in 2015. He explained that although the choir had existed in previous years, it became inactive for a prolonged period before deliberate efforts were made to revive and reorganize it.
Pastor Kingsley expressed profound appreciation to the individuals whose dedication, sacrifices, and unwavering support contributed significantly to the successful restoration and growth of the choir ministry. He paid special tribute to Elder S. K. Bodo, then Associate District Church Chairman, for accepting the responsibility of rebuilding and providing leadership for the choir during its formative years.
He also acknowledged Elder Maclean Achimota for his remarkable generosity in making his personal vehicle available, thereby easing transportation challenges experienced during rehearsals, evangelistic outreaches, and other choir engagements.
Other individuals recognized for their invaluable contributions to the growth and sustainability of the choir included Dorcas Owenario, Mekume Bekeowei, Jennifer O., Ebikila Obubo, and Blessing Bedwell.
In one of the most touching moments of the event, Pastor Kingsley invited Sister Blessing Bedwell to the front and publicly commended her commitment, dedication, and sacrifices during the early years of the choir's re-establishment. He then made a heartfelt appeal for her renewed commitment to the church, saying:
"Come back to where you belong. The Lord has not forgotten you, and He is still interested in using you for His glory. Your gifts are valuable in His service."
To reinforce the appeal, Pastor Kingsley rendered a special musical presentation and invited Sister Blessing to join him in leading the song. The emotional moment culminated in a special prayer session for Sister Blessing and her friend, seeking God's guidance, strength, protection, and a deeper walk with Him.
The Maiden Choir Day concluded on a spiritually uplifting note, celebrating not only the ministry of sacred music but also God's faithfulness in restoring and sustaining His work through committed men and women. The event served as a powerful reminder that God continues to call His children into active service and that every talent surrendered to Him can be used mightily for the advancement of His kingdom.
