Prince Al Waleed bin Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, known to many as the “Sleeping Prince,” has passed away after spending over two decades in a coma following a tragic car accident.

Born in April 1990, Prince Al Waleed was the eldest son of Prince Khaled bin Talal Al Saud, a prominent Saudi royal and nephew of billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal.

In 2005, at just 15 years old and studying as a military cadet in London, the young prince was involved in a devastating road accident that left him with severe brain injuries and internal bleeding. Despite the efforts of top medical specialists from the U.S. and Spain, he never regained full consciousness.

Saudi Arabia?s ?Sleeping Prince? dies after 20 years in a coma

For over 20 years, Prince Al Waleed remained in a minimally responsive state. Occasional involuntary movements offered glimmers of hope, and his father, Prince Khaled, remained by his side—refusing calls to remove life support and holding on to faith in divine healing.

The family often shared touching videos of the prince slightly reacting to Quranic recitations, drawing widespread public empathy and admiration.

News of the prince’s passing at a specialised medical facility in Saudi Arabia sparked an outpouring of condolences across the country. The hashtag quickly trended on social media, as thousands remembered him as a symbol of patience, faith, and a father’s relentless love.

Over the years, the prince’s hospital room became a place of spiritual reflection, with countless visitors offering prayers and support. His life and prolonged struggle highlighted not only medical resilience but also the enduring power of love, faith, and family devotion.

The daughters of late Former President Buhari have expressed their gratitude to anyone who has deemed it fit to forgive their dad for anything he might have done against them while he was alive.

The former president d!ed in a London hospital in the UK on Sunday, July 13, after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment.

In an interview with BBC Hausa, Aisha, popularly known as Hanan Buhari, who is one of his children, expressed the gr!ef she felt after the de@th of her father. Hanan said that losing her father was like losing a part of her body.

“What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me,” she explained.

Hanan also thanked Nigerians who forgave their father, saying

“We have nothing to say to them except thank you, thank God.”

She added that the deceased ex-president had good intentions towards Nigerians, describing him as “one of the common people”.

“That disciplined me to study, pray, and do things that made us happy,” she said.

On her part, his eldest daughter, Hadiza Muhammadu Buhari, known as Nana, said her father was filled with love for Nigerians.

“During his treatment, I went to London to check on him. After he got better, I decided to return to Nigeria. When I told him, ‘Dad, I’m going,’ he said, ‘Where are you going?”
I told him I was returning to Nigeria, and he said, ‘Greet Nigerians,” she explained.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has admitted that it is making efforts to bring back Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, into its party.

This was made known by the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi. He described Obi as a valuable political asset capable of boosting the party’s electoral chances if reunited with the platform.

Speaking on Arise Television, Abdullahi praised Obi’s performance in the 2023 elections, where he garnered over six million votes across the country, despite what he described as “massive rigging” and “deliberate frustration” of his chances in many states.

“Peter Obi is our product. We want to get him back, indeed, because he is a very, very great capital for any political party,” Abdullahi said.

“If he had not gone the way he did in the last dispensation and had not faced the institutional obstacles that were placed in his path, we are confident he would have performed even better. That he was still able to command over six million votes shows he is not a candidate to ignore.”

Abdullahi admitted that Obi’s decision to leave the PDP for the Labour Party was a major setback for the party at the time, but said his exit did not diminish the respect and recognition he still commands within the PDP family.
“Every political party that gets the opportunity to have him will be at an advantage. And certainly, PDP is not giving up on that effort,” Abdullahi added.

He stated that the PDP is currently engaged in ongoing internal consultations and long-term strategic planning aimed at unifying opposition voices ahead of the 2027 general elections, and bringing Obi back is part of that wider calculation.

“In the fullness of time, we believe we might get him back. It will be a big boost to the PDP,” he said.

Tinubu renames University of Maiduguri after Buhari

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the renaming of the University of Maiduguri as Muhammadu Buhari University, in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The announcement was made during a special session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) held on Thursday in Abuja, where tributes were paid to the former Head of State and two-term civilian president, who died earlier this week.

President Tinubu said the decision was a mark of national gratitude for Buhari’s decades of public service, noting his deep ties to the North-East region and his enduring influence on Nigeria’s democratic and military history.

Aisha Buhari Was Divorced From Late President Buhari Before His Death –Farooq Kperogi

““Aisha And Buhari Were Ð!vorced Before His Ð3ath” — Prof. Farooq Kperogi says

A Professor of Journalism and Emerging Media at Kennesaw State University, Farooq Kperogi, has alleged that Aisha was no longer married to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kperogi made this claim in a post on his verified page on Wednesday.

According to him, Aisha had dropped Buhari as her surname and reverted to her maiden name, Halilu.

He further alleged that Aisha was reluctant to travel to the United Kingdom to care for Buhari when he became ill.

Kperogi was reacting to quotes attributed to Aisha, which claimed Buhari had asked her to seek forgiveness from Nigerians on his behalf.

Although Kperogi said he could not confirm the authenticity of the quotes, he maintained that the couple were no longer married.

He wrote: “They had divorced, and Aisha reverted to her maiden name, Aisha Halilu. If you paid close attention, you would notice that Aisha didn’t go to Daura when he retired to the town after leaving office.

“Buhari was also alone when he later relocated to Kaduna. In fact, when he fell ill and it was suggested that Aisha travel to London to care for him, she reportedly hesitated because she was no longer his wife.”
