Few days ago, I saw a post on Chef Bawalicious page that really got me thinking.
He was looking for a vendor who could supply him with fresh seafood, and he eventually found someone.
They established trust and Chef Bawa sent him a sum of 1 million naira including logistics.
But instead of using the money for what it was meant for, this young man gambled with it.
After several failed attempts to reach him, he eventually confessed that he had lost the money through gambling.
Let's be honest here, this a mistake, someone trusted you with ₦1 million. You knew exactly what the money was meant for, yet you deliberately used it for something else.
That is a serious breach of trust.
And the situation became even worse when it was discovered that he was owing several other people, with his debts reportedly reaching about ₦10 million.
This is one of the dangers of gambling that people don't talk about enough.
Gambling doesn't only take your money, it can make you desperate to recover what you've lost, so you keep betting. Before you know it, you are drowning in debt and making decisions you never thought you would make.
A person who started with the hope of making quick money can eventually lose their job, their reputation, people's trust and even their peace of mind.
And this is why we need to stop presenting gambling as an easy way to make money.
If you have started staking small small money, pls walk away before it controls you.
Because sometimes, you don't lose everything in one bet. You lose it little by little until there is almost nothing left to save.
Save yourself and future.
Say NO to gambling.
