Atiku Should Be Father Figure, Not Presidential Candidate – Baba-Ahmed

“He is a very prominent member of the PDP, a founding member of the PDP. Vice President for eight years.

“He competed three times, contested three times. He is a highly respected person,” Baba-Ahmed said.

“I think he should be a hero of democracy, but I didn’t think he should aspire to even lead this country. I think he should be a father figure.

“He should be involved in the building of an alternative to APC, but he should bring in new blood, new perspectives, new people, and say the future belongs to you. We will stand behind you,” he added.

PRESIDENT TINUBU, RETURN GOVERNOR FUBARA — RIVERS STATE IS BLEEDING UNDER YOUR SILENCE

Mr. President, how long will you continue to watch an entire state bleed under the weight of illegality? Rivers State is neither at war nor facing any natural disaster, yet it suffers, crippled by your silence. You have permitted, through inaction, the imposition of an unconstitutional sole administrator whose existence defies our democratic order. This has not only disrupted governance but also trampled on the will of our people who freely elected Governor fubara.

This Ibas now wielding power in Rivers holds no constitutional backing. Under his control, the state’s economy has deteriorated, institutions have collapsed, and the people are burdened with untold hardship. Even after Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, publicly reconciled and committed to peace and cooperation, you have refused to restore the Governor’s full constitutional authority. There is no crisis in Rivers, so what justifies this prolonged political sabotage?

As we speak, state agencies, parastatals, and development boards have been rendered lifeless. The state is being ruled like a personal estate by individuals without mandate, no transparency, no accountability, and a clear violation of the rule of law. This is not federalism. This is not democracy. This is the silent death of a state under your watch, and the legacy of your silence will not be forgotten by the people.

Mr. President, leadership requires courage and commitment to justice. You swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Now is the time to live up to that sacred duty. Restore Governor Fubara. Uphold the will of the people. Rivers State must not be sacrificed for political convenience. Let democracy breathe again in our land.

Bring Back Governor fubara to continue his good works

Chief Dele Momodu, the former presidential aspirant, has formally announced his resignation from the PDP and officially defected to the ADC.

In his letter, Dele Momodu expressed that he decided to leave the PDP because the party has undeniably been taken over by antidemocratic elements, both from inside and outside its ranks, and this has occurred openly.

He wrote, “I wish to inform you of my decision to resign from our political party, PDP, with immediate effect. My reason is simple and straightforward. Our party has been unarguably hijacked by antidemocratic forces, from within and outside, in broad daylight.

“It is, therefore, honourable to abandon the carcass of the party to them while the majority of us carnestly sign up with the new coalition party known as the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
I will forever treasure the kind support you gave me at all times.”

It’s Better If Anyone Blocking PDP’s Progress Leaves, Makinde says after Atiku’s Resignation

“Politics is a game of interest, and I don’t think that will make any dent on the PDP as a party; the PDP is an institution,” he said. “You have freedom of entrance and exit. But I think anyone who would hold PDP down, it is better for such an individual to just leave.”

Atiku resigns from PDP, cites 'irreconcilable differences and deviation from party’s founding vision'

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing irreconcilable differences and a deviation from the party’s founding principles.

In a letter dated July 14 and addressed to the PDP Chairman for Jada Ward I, Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Atiku stated that his decision was informed by the party’s departure from its original vision.

Atiku expressed his gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities he received, including serving as Vice President of Nigeria and being a presidential candidate twice.

As a founding father of the PDP, Atiku described his decision to leave as “heartbreaking,” emphasizing the party’s betrayal of its original principles and founding ideology.

The former Vice President is expected to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the coming days.
