TO THE FIRST LADY, MRS REMI TINUBU:
Telling Nigerians to start akara or kuli-kuli businesses during a period of severe economic hardship risks sounding disconnected from the realities many people face. The challenge for many citizens is not just finding a business idea, but dealing with rising prices of ingredients, transportation costs, rent, electricity bills, and limited access to capital.

Small businesses are important and have helped many families survive difficult times, but many Nigerians expect leaders to focus on creating an environment where businesses can thrive through stable policies, lower inflation, improved security, and better access to loans and opportunities.

Entrepreneurship can be part of the solution, but many people believe it should not replace broader economic reforms and job creation efforts from the government.

NOTE:
Nigerians are not lacking in hustle or creativity. What many people are struggling with is the cost of doing business in an economy where prices keep rising. Starting an akara or kuli-kuli business may work for some, but citizens also expect policies that create jobs, support small businesses, and make life more affordable. Entrepreneurship should complement good governance, not substitute for it.
