Today was honestly one of the happiest and funniest days of my children’s lives. In their minds, they have finally “achieved” their dream career. They’ve always loved anything military or paramilitary, but police officers are their number one obsession. Since we moved here, the love has doubled. Any siren they hear, they must peep. Any security officer they see, they must stop and salute like it’s morning parade.
They didn’t go to school today because we had an appointment. On the way, their dad pointed at the police station. That was the beginning of our trouble. They immediately begged him to take them there. He just gave that quick promise parents give to keep children calm, but they did NOT forget.
After the appointment, we branched somewhere else, thinking the matter had died. The moment we drove past the station again, they screamed the whole car down. No peace for us. We finally stopped and took them in.
And honestly, the joy on their faces was worth everything. They were so excited. They talked about it nonstop and even told me to call my uncle in Nigeria who is a police officer, because “they are now police too. Big thanks to the officers who made their visit memorable.the sticker means alot them.
To crown it all, they said they’re starting work tomorrow.
Please, what exactly am I supposed to tell them tomorrow morning? 😭😂
