DON’T GIVE UP — A LESSON I LEARNED AS A CHILD
When I was little, my primary school had an inter-house sports competition.
My mother was invited to attend as a guest, and I was so excited because I was also going to participate in one of the races.
The race was called “Thread the Needle.”
Then the moment came.
The bell went.
Everyone started running.
But there was one problem—I couldn't thread my needle! 😂
I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get it through.
By the time I finally succeeded, the other children were already far ahead.
I started running anyway.
But, honestly, I disappeared from the race almost immediately! 😂
After the race, my mother came to me and said,
“Ah! I heard your name when they called the race. How come I didn't see you at the finish line?”
I burst into tears.
I told her, “Mummy, I couldn't thread the needle.”
And what she said next stayed with me.
She said, “Next time, don't do that. Don't ever give up. Even if you are the last person, keep running. Anything can happen.”
Then she said something else that I have never forgotten:
“Sometimes, people may applaud the person who endured to the end even more than the person who got the medal.”
I learned a lesson that day that has stayed with me:
It is not always about coming first. Sometimes, the victory is simply refusing to stop.
Maybe you feel like everyone has gone ahead of you.
Maybe you've tried, failed, tried again, and you're tired.
Maybe you feel like you're already too far behind.
Don't give up.
Keep running.
Keep believing.
Keep trusting God.
You may not know what He is doing right now, but **don't abandon the race simply because your journey looks different from everyone else's.**
Psalm 27:14 says:
**“Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!”**
