Rivers Administrator, Ibas, Inaugurates Boards, Demands Credible LG Elections

Rivers State Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), has called for credible local government elections from the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). He also charged other newly appointed board members to uphold the highest standards of discipline, competence, integrity, and unwavering dedication in their service to the state.

Ibas gave this directive on Monday in Port Harcourt during the inauguration of the reconstituted RSIEC, Rivers State Civil Service Commission, Rivers State Local Government Service Commission, and the Rivers Primary Health Care Management Board.
The administrator’s Senior Special Adviser on Media, Hector Igbikiowubo, released a statement about the inauguration on Monday night.

Video of policemen beating up a young man who tried overtaking their convoy, along Mercy-Land, East West Road, Port Harcourt. It was reported that the policemen double-crossed the man while he was trying to overtake their convoy, dragged him out of his car and started beating him to the extent he broke his arm.
