*SIN, SATAN & SHAME: The Truth About Correction Under Grace*
Let me set the record straight:
God does not correct His children with evil. Period.
In this New Covenant of grace, God doesn't use public shame, accidents, tragedy, sickness, or any form of darkness to discipline His own.
He is not the author of disgrace. He is the Father of lights.
(James 1:17 – Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.)
So when a believer says, "God punished me with this sickness because I sinned," or "God exposed me to shame to teach me a lesson,"—
that’s not correction, that’s confusion.
1. God Corrects by Revelation, Not Ruin
In Christ, correction is internal—not external pain.
> “The Spirit will guide you into all truth…” – John 16:13
“The Word corrects and trains in righteousness…” – 2 Tim 3:16
It’s done through truth, love, conviction—not fear, shame, or disaster.
2. Sin Does Not Give the Devil Access. Ignorance Does.
We are seated far above all demonic powers in Christ.
Sin doesn’t throw us down from that seat—only ignorance of our position does.
If the enemy attacks, it’s not because you sinned.
It’s because you didn’t stand in revelation.
> “My people perish for lack of knowledge…” – Hosea 4:6
Not for lack of perfection.
3. Shame Is Never God’s Correction Tool
God doesn’t gain glory by embarrassing His sons.
Public disgrace brings mockery to the body of Christ—not transformation.
> “You shall not be put to shame…” – Isaiah 54:4
4. God Doesn’t Kill to Correct
He doesn’t take your child, wreck your business, or crash your car to teach you holiness. That’s not Jesus.
That’s bad theology.
Jesus is the exact image of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), and He never destroyed a person to discipline them.
5. So How Does God Actually Discipline You as a Son?
He teaches you through His Word
He convicts you with the Spirit of truth
He surrounds you with wise counsel
He draws you back with unfailing love and kindness
> “It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance…” – Romans 2:4
Final Truth: The Devil is Not Your Judge
He has no right to accuse you.
> “Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect?” – Romans 8:33
