He founded the Calvary Movie Drama Ministry in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, in September 1995, aiming to spread the gospel through the power of drama. He was also the CEO of Calvary Movie Television, furthering his mission of faith-based outreach.
Throughout his career, 'Baba Gbenro' fondly called by his stage name from the Mount Zion YouTube series âAbattoir,â featured in numerous Christian films and worked alongside notable Gospel actors such as Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, Damilola Bamiloye, and Tolulope Adegbo. His performances touched the hearts of many and inspired countless people to deepen their faith.
Personal Life and Legacy Born on June 11, 1959, Korede Are spent his early years in a village in Kano State, Nigeria, where he began his education. He later pursued further studies in Plateau State before relocating to Southwestern Nigeria for his Higher School Certificate (HSC) and university education.
Baba Gbenroâs commitment to sharing the gospel and impacting lives through drama has left an enduring legacy. Together with his wife, Bamike Rebecca Are, he worked tirelessly to promote Christian values and the teachings of Christ through their ministry.
The 65-year-old gospel movie actor sadly passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, after a prolonged battle with liver disease.
