Monday morning.
One message from work:
“Due to restructuring, your services are no longer required.”
Take a second and actually sit with that.
Rent is still waiting.
School fees are still waiting.
NEPA bill is still waiting.
Fuel is still waiting.
Your family is still waiting.
Now here's the question I've been asking myself lately:
If my salary stopped today, what skill do I have that I could realistically start monetizing within the next 30–90 days?
Not my certificate.
Not my job title.
Not what's written on my ID card.
A skill someone would actually pay me for.
This isn't a motivational question.
It's a Nigerian question.
Too many hardworking people are one salary away from serious financial pressure.
And most of us were trained to pass exams, get qualifications and find jobs.
We weren't really taught how to build multiple ways to create value and earn from them.
That's one reason I started paying serious attention to AI.
Not because AI is magic.
Not because I believe everybody is going to become rich overnight.
But because AI gives an ordinary person leverage.
One person with a smartphone can now do things that used to require more time, more people or expensive software.
Here's a small example.
I used ChatGPT to help me structure a business proposal recently.
The first draft took about 12 minutes.
I still had to review it, correct it and add the important details.
But AI helped me get from “blank page” to “working draft” much faster.
That's not a life-changing win.
It's a small one.
But small wins compound.
And I'd rather stack 10 small advantages than sit around waiting for one miracle.
So let's be honest with each other.
If your salary stopped TODAY, what's the ONE skill that would still feed you?
Comment your answer below.
One word is fine. No long grammar needed. 😂
If you don't have one yet, just comment:
“AI”
I'll reply with one AI skill you can start exploring this week.
And watch out for the next post.
I'm going to break down 7 practical AI skills ordinary Nigerians can start learning with just a smartphone and data.

And if this question made you think about someone who is depending entirely on one income, tag them.
Not to scare them.
To make them think.
