World Diabetes Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a critical global public health issue and emphasize the collective and individual actions needed to improve the prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition.

This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps,” underpins WHO's commitment to reducing the risk of diabetes, and ensuring that all people who are diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable and quality treatment and care.

I think every country needs a national policy for the prevention, treatment and care of diabetes.

Also, I believe every home should have and know how to use a glucometer and sphygmomanometer for monitoring sugar level and blood pressure respectively.

In commemoration of this year's World Hepatitis Day (WHD2023), the NIMSA—Technical Office on Cancer Awareness and Advocacy will be carrying out a medical outreach across the regions in Nigeria.
It's crucial to know that chronic hepatitis B, is a risk factor for liver cancer. In view of this,
the outreach will feature screening, vaccination,
sensitization and distribution of drugs and condoms (since it can also be sexually transmitted) .
We hope to screen about 3000 people and vaccinate atleast 2000 people, even more, in Nigeria.
However, our budget is so huge that it might not be possible without your tremendous support.
Thank you so much as you contribute your own quota towards wrestling against hepatitis and possible complications in Nigeria.
