There’s a difference between guarding your heart and hiding your heart out of fear.
Guarding your heart is about being intentional, protecting your emotions from harm, and choosing who to let in. It's about self-care, boundaries, and wisdom. On the other hand, hiding your heart out of fear is about avoidance, letting anxiety and past hurts dictate your relationships. It's about self-preservation, but also self-imprisonment.
Think about it: when you guard your heart, you're not closing yourself off from love or connection; you're actually opening yourself up to the possibility of deeper, more meaningful relationships. You're saying, "I value my emotions, and I'll choose to share them with people who will handle them with care."
But when you hide your heart out of fear, you're building walls, not boundaries. You're not protecting yourself; you're suffocating yourself. You're missing out on the beauty of human connection, the thrill of vulnerability, and the joy of being seen and loved for who you truly are.
So, what's the difference?
📌 One is about empowerment, the other is about paralysis.
📌 One is about choosing love, the other is about fearing loss.
📌 One is about living, the other is about surviving.
Let's make a conscious effort to guard our hearts, not hide them.
