APC Screens 11 Governors Ahead of Party Primaries, Exercise Continues Today, Saturday.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee for sitting governors seeking re-election, chaired by the party’s National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, with the APC National Secretary, Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, serving as Secretary, has successfully screened several governors ahead of the party’s primaries.

The governors screened include:

1. Gov. Abba Yusuf – Kano State

2. Gov. Inuwa Yahaya – Gombe State

3. Gov. Nasir Idris – Kebbi State

4. Gov. Caleb Muftwang – Plateau State

5. Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia – Benue State

6. Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru – Ebonyi State

7. Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori – Delta State

8. Gov. Umar Bago – Niger State

9. Gov. Dauda Lawal – Zamfara State

10. Sen. Bassey Otu – Cross River State

The screening exercise is expected to continue today as the party intensifies preparations for its forthcoming primaries.

Tragedy in Maiduguri NYSC camp as female corps member falls ill and d+es days after arrival at orientation camp.

A corps member identified as Lohina Bamaiyi Ajegena has reportedly d+ed just a few days after arriving at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Maiduguri.

She was said to have fallen ill shortly after the commencement of the orientation exercise and passed away on April 27, 2026. The sad news was confirmed by fellow corps members, who shared tributes on Facebook.

One of her colleagues, Augustine Pamela, said they first met at a motor park while travelling to Maiduguri for the camp and later developed a close bond during the programme.

According to Pamela, Lovina became seriously ill about six days into the orientation camp, and she took it upon herself to care for her. She also explained that she later became ill as well, and both of them were admitted to the same hospital, where Lovina eventually d+ed.

Fmr. VP Atiku Abubakar, Others Suspended from ADC Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The factional leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former SGF Babachir Lawal, and several others over alleged anti-party activities.

The announcement was made by Adamawa State ADC Chairman, Muh’d Raji Sulaiman Zumo, who stated that no member is above the party’s constitution regardless of status or influence.

“Let it be clearly stated no individual, regardless of his status or influence is above the law or the constitution of African Democratic Congress (ADC), as long as he is a card carrying member of the party,” Zumo said while addressing newsmen.

He emphasized that discipline and adherence to party rules remain core values of the ADC.
“Gentlemen of the press, ADC is built on discipline, justice and supremacy of law,” he added.

According to him, the suspension followed consultations within the party’s executive leadership in Adamawa State. He listed those affected as including Atiku Abubakar, Engr. David Babalawal, and Barr. Sadiq Ibrahim Darsin.
“They are suspended for their role in creating disunity,” Zumo stated.

Panic as Peter Obi Thr+atens to Dump ADC.

Fresh concerns have emerged within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following comments by former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, suggesting he could leave the party if internal processes are compromised.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV on Monday, Obi explained the reasons behind his past party defections, insisting that his decisions were driven by principle rather than personal gain.

Obi recalled that his first major switch, from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the Peoples Democratic Party stemmed from disagreements with his successor as governor of Anambra State.

“I moved from APGA to the PDP because of issues with my successor. Rather than allow it to become t+xic & become destructive to governance of the State, I moved out,” he said.

According to Obi, his experience in the PDP was not significantly different, as he claimed the party environment was dominated by disregard for rules and excessive political bargaining.

“People were not playing by the rules. It was transactional. I cannot be part of a transactional primaries. I cannot be paying people to go and serve them,” Obi said.

He further stated that his move to the Labour Party followed similar concerns about governance and internal practices.

“So I moved to Labour, and of course like I said, government came into same system, which is very clear, I escaped from the fire they started.

“I’m in ADC with the same people, some of whom have left PDP and other parties but we are going through the same process. If that process is again compromised, I will speak out. If I have to move 20 times, I will.

I have never been involved in rigging of election, at the primary level at the election itself, and after that,” Obi emphasized.

Traditional Ruler, Five Others K+lled and B¥rnt by G¥nmen in Brutal Imo Att@ck.

A tragic incident has thrown Ochia Autonomous Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area, Imo State, into mourning after unidentified g+nmen brutally k+lled six people, including the community’s traditional ruler, Eze Paulinus Ekwueme.

The victims were the monarch, two of his brothers, his driver, and his security aides. They were att@cked on Friday, and after carrying out the k+llings, the assailants reportedly set the victims’ bodies on fire along with the traditional ruler’s official vehicle.

Eze Ekwueme had recently returned to the community due to health challenges. His visit was aimed at reconnecting with his people, and earlier that day, he had attended a meeting with women in the area. Shortly after the meeting, he and those accompanying him were ambushed along Asa Awara Road by armed men who opened fire and killed them.

Information circulating online, including a video of the aftermath, indicates that the att@ckers acted with extreme brutality, burning the victims at the scene immediately after the attack.

Confirming the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, condemned the att@ck and described it as heinous. He assured residents that security operatives have been deployed and that tactical teams are actively working to track down and arrest those responsible.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Okoye Henry, said that the Imo State Police Command received a distress report at about 4:30 p.m. on April 10, 2026, informing them of an attack on the traditional ruler along Asa Awara Road. Following the alert, tactical teams were dispatched to the scene in Assa, Imo State, where officers recovered the charred remains of the victims.

Authorities have since intensified investigations as efforts continue to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested a man for allegedly thr£atening Peter Obi following an att@ck on him in Benin, Edo state.

Last Tuesday, Yunusa Tanko, national coordinator of the Obidient movement, reported that Obi & some leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were att@cked at the residence of party chieftain John Odigie-Oyegun.

Shortly after the incident, a social media user, Udeme Stephen, allegedly claimed responsibility for the att@ck on his X account () & thr£atened further vi%lence against Obi, including during a planned trip to Rivers state. In his post, Stephen said Obi was “lucky” to survive the Edo att@ck & warned that his men would “handle” him in Rivers state.

A security source confirmed that DSS operatives quickly launched a covert investigation, using forensic tools to trace the suspect to Rivers state, where he works as a teacher at Jessica High School in Eliozu, Obio-Akpor LGA. The 26-year-old man was subsequently arrested and is now in DSS custody.

The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has stirred fresh reactions after declaring that a sitting president will pass away before 2027.
