A few months ago, I decided to take my skills more seriously and invest in learning Social Media Management, and Content Writing.

There were days I felt like I wasn't doing enough, days I doubted myself, and days I simply had to keep going even when I didn't feel motivated.

Today, I’m officially a Skill2Income Academy Graduate.
And honestly, I’m proud not because I have everything figured out, but because I started, I stayed, and I finished.

Now comes the part I’m really looking forward to: putting everything I’ve learned to work.

One certificate. One new chapter. One step closer to the career I’m building for myself.

Here's a simple content test:

Before publishing a post, remove the business name from it.

Now ask yourself:

Would I still know who this post is for?
If the answer is no, your message might be too generic.

Good content should feel relevant to someone not just announce that a business exists.

Here's something I wish more people understood about social media:

Your audience doesn't see every post you publish.

So you don't have to be afraid of talking about an important topic more than once.

You can explain it differently.

Use a different example.

Turn it into a Reel.

Ask a question about it.

Tell a story around it.

Repeating an important message isn't always repetition to your audience.

Here's a simple way to find content ideas without staring at a blank screen.

Go through your own conversations.

What questions do people ask you repeatedly?

What do you have to explain more than once?

What do people misunderstand?
What do you wish someone had told you earlier?

Those are content ideas.

Your everyday knowledge can be valuable to someone else.

You know what I've noticed?

Sometimes you can look at someone's social media page and immediately know that they're posting because they feel like they have to post.

There's no clear message.

No real connection.

Just:
“Good morning 😊”

“Happy Monday!”

“Buy from us!”

“Happy weekend!”

And repeat.

That's when I remember that having something to post and having something to say are two different things.

Can we agree that “just post consistently” is one of the most incomplete pieces of social media advice?

Consistently posting the wrong thing doesn't make it the right thing.

Sometimes you need better ideas.

Sometimes better messaging.

Sometimes better visuals.

Sometimes a clearer understanding of your audience.

Consistency matters.

But consistency needs direction.

What social media advice are you tired of hearing?

One thing I've realised about creating content:

You don't have to be “in the mood” to have a good idea.

Sometimes the best idea comes when you're washing dishes.

Sometimes while you're scrolling.

Sometimes when you're trying to sleep and suddenly your brain decides:

“Remember that thing you could post about?”

And then you have to grab your phone before you forget it.

Content creation really does require you to pay attention to everyday life.

Conversations, questions, frustrations, funny moments, things you notice online…

All of them can become content.
Where do your random ideas usually come from?

I think one of the most underrated social media skills is paying attention.

Paying attention to what people keep asking.

Paying attention to which posts make people respond.

Paying attention to the words customers use.

Paying attention to what people ignore.

Because sometimes your next great content idea isn't sitting in a content calendar.

It's hiding in a comment, a question, a DM or a conversation.

You just have to notice it.

What is something you've noticed recently that gave you a good content idea?

Social media managers, please tell me I'm not the only one

You can spend 30 minutes trying to come up with one good content idea…

Then suddenly, while you're doing something completely unrelated, 10 ideas will enter your head at once.

And you're just there like:
“Where were you when I actually needed you?”

Content ideas really do come at the most random times.

What's the most random place you've ever gotten a good idea?

Small business owners, let's settle this

Which one would make you more likely to stop and check out a business?

A:
“New stock available. DM to order.”

B:
“The pieces you've been asking about are finally back.”

Same basic message.

Completely different feeling.

Sometimes content doesn't need more information.

It needs a better hook.

Which one would make YOU stop — A or B?
