The death of Nanya: The lessons to keep for safety.
I would have spiritualize this snake bítè .you guys know me too well ,but let me leave that aside and give some vital informations that would be helpful incase of future occurance .
First of i heard she was bitten by a cobra someone that knows too well said she received antivenom.
The thibg is Cobra is a neurotoxic snake and has the ability to cause rapid paralysis, muscle weakness and particularly respiratory failure in minutes.
A man bitten by a cobra can díe in 30 mins- 60 mins if proper medical care is not instituted. The time of dèáth depends on a lot of factors, including the amount of vènom injected, location of bite, and the overall health of the victim.
Aside from immediate administration ofantivènom , there must be an immediate and continuous respiratory support and other supportive care until full recovery; usually after 24hours. It is important to note that anti vènom acts to neutralize circulating venom but the reversal of symptoms is not instantaneous.
Most patients show clinical improvement within 12- 24hours after administration of anti vènom.
In severe cobra envenomatio , particularly with respiratory paralysis, improvement may take longer time and repeated doses of ant vènom may be necessary to fully reverse the neurotoxin effects of the cobra's bite.
When bíten by a snake do the following :
1: Stop Panicking ,panicking increases heart rate and this makes the venom spread faster.
2. Keep the bitten limb completely still to reduce movement, which also increases spread of the vènom
3. Pressure Immobilization Bandage- a firm, elastic bandage ( like for a sprained ankle) may be considered in certain cases
4. Ultimately rush to the nearest government secondary or tertiary hospital preferably.
Again ,It is also good if we all have "Black Stone" (Precious Stone) in our homes at all times, should you have a snake, scorpion or dog bítè, just cut that point with new unused razor blad and place the stone on it to draw out the poiso.n .
May her soul rest well...🙏
