We are now in the third cycle of an ecosystem.

We have listened intentionally to three perspectives. First, the woman. Then, the husbands. And now, the employers. Because a single lens tells a single story and that can be dangerous.

But how did we get here?

It started with a question, one that dared to ask whether female talent could show up fully in the workplace without being swallowed by marriage, motherhood and the weight of everything that comes with being a woman.

And so, we began to dig.

We listened, studied and documented.
Across industries and across experiences, we sat with husbands. We listened to employers. We let the stories speak.
Each voice added a layer as perspectives deepened the conversation.

The story is still evolving.
So is the impact. The mix. The shared learning.
This is how we got here.

This is our story

She will take the next best thing she can get..
Its the truth
She is drowning
She commutes from Monday to Saturday
On Sundays she does her laundry and goes to church

Monday, she is back to it

She can barely find a minute to rest

She is not even married yet! not a mother yet! What happens when those responsibilities come in?

She will definitely take the next job she can find
Even if it pays a little less.

Dear employer, this decision can't seriously be a surprise to you.

The cost of employee turnover is not just the cost of hiring a replacement.
More often, it is the cost of the time, energy, and resources invested in training someone who had just gotten a handle on the role—only to leave.

Many employers are genuinely confused when loyal employees decide to move on, even when they have been treated well and there is a clear growth path within the company.

The answer is simple..

People are choosing jobs that give them time to just be.
People are becoming partners and want time for their partners.
People are becoming mothers and fathers and want time for their children.

What many companies are experiencing is not an epidemic.
It is reality.

And the organizations that continue to thrive are those that make room for the human situation, aka life and family.

The future of work is flexible.
People will always choose a system where they have some time to themselves..

Had a really lovely time in a cozy session at the Omaji Empowerment Programme by Designs

The first step is learning the skill

The second is learning the business of the skill, and we took time to teach Business Planning & Documentation to the 2024/25 participant.

The OEP has been a great success and we are glad to be partners through Scribble House

WhatsApp, not phone calls.

In today’s work reality, calling someone directly on their mobile line can be highly disruptive.
A direct call can seize a person’s network instantly. It can interrupt a transaction they are processing, disrupt a meeting they are hosting or joining, or cut off an important presentation or broadcast they are actively engaged in. Sometimes, it ruins more than just a moment, it derails work entirely.

This is why communication etiquette has evolved.
The better approach is simple:
Use WhatsApp first.
Either place a WhatsApp call or send a quick message asking if the person is available to receive a direct call. That small pause gives the other person control over their time, attention, and connectivity.

Many of the frustrations, ignored calls, and unnecessary tension between callers and receivers today are not about unwillingness to communicate, they are about how we communicate.

When people are busy and their network is abruptly seized, it can cause irritation to build. When it happens repeatedly, it can even lead to animosity, especially in professional relationships.

Good communication is not just about urgency.

It is about awareness, timing, and respect for the other person’s space.

A simple message before a call can save time, preserve relationships, and keep work flowing smoothly👌

Can your employees love your company better than they love themselves?

No. And they shouldn’t.

The best employees are innovative, dependable, and skilled, but one thing remains true: they will always look out for themselves first.

While this may sound selfish, it actually points leaders to one clear truth: Employee development/wellbeing must be a priority.

What makes top talent want to stay?

• A clear growth path
• Better compensation
• A flexible work system

I once asked a staff member why she didn’t follow a better offer she received.
(Backstory: a CEO had reached out and pitched a few of our staff with “better” opportunities.)

This particular staff member — the strongest in her department — chose to stay.

Her answer was simple:

“I can’t work that way.”

She was referring to the other organization’s system:
Monday to Saturday, 9am–5pm, every week.

She chose to remain with us because our structure allowed her to work some days on-site and some days online — a true hybrid system.

Less wonder LinkedIn Workplace Survey consistently points to Flexible work (work life balance) as one of the top things employees want the most.

If you want your people to stay, build an environment worth staying for.

I used to dislike women-centred initiatives.

I felt like it was unnecessary attention that suggested we were victims who needed so much help to stand.

If I had been told that I would become the pioneer of one, I wouldn’t have believed it.

But here we are, many years later.

I’ve come to see the uniqueness of being a woman. I’ve come to understand the importance of conversations, support, and spaces where women can truly connect.

I chose a path I can deeply relate to; the realities of women navigating work and home. Women who are wives and mothers, but who want to be more, who want to express their ambitions, unleash their creativity, and make a meaningful impact in the economy. Women who understand that raising a home is noble but still believe they can do more.

At our last discussion circle at the WomanIncluded Economy, targeted at women in the corporate space, we explored the challenges these women face, celebrated their achievements, and shared practical strategies for balancing career growth with family life. We heard stories of resilience, innovation, and leadership, and we realized that when women support each other, possibilities expand far beyond what we imagined.

These conversations reaffirmed why spaces like this are necessary; not because women are weak, but because when we come together, we empower each other to be stronger, bolder, and more impactful.

Looking forward to our discussion on Saturday
WomanIncluded Economy

What happens when 10 corporate women sit in one room… and finally speak honestly about work, home, and everything in between?

What do working women say when the mask finally comes off?

We’re creating space to find out.

A Serene Environment.
Corporate Women.
All navigating work...
All carrying targets, policies, expectations…
And still showing up for their families every single day.

That’s exactly what this discussion circle is about.

Want to know what unfolds in that room?
December 6th, 2025 is the date.
