"If I become president, I'll abolish indigenship and allow only citizenship. All these I'm west, I'm north, I'm east, and you're calling people to vote for you based on religion. I'll abolish federal character. Every Nigerian will be a member of the federation."

- Amaechi spoke after appearing before the ADC presidential screening committee at Transcorp Hilton.

Gombe State University has produced its overall best graduating student for the 2024/2025 academic session as Dr. Ibrahim Zamfara completed his MBBS program with a perfect CGPA of 5.00.

Dr. Zamfara’s result places him at the top of the graduating class, making him the Overall Best Graduating Student of GSU for the session. The achievement marks a rare academic milestone in Nigerian medical education, where a flawless 5.00 CGPA is seldom attained.

Beyond the overall grade, Dr. Zamfara earned distinctions in 10 core medical courses. The list includes Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Haematology, Medical Microbiology, Chemical Pathology, Histopathology, Pharmacology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Internal Medicine.

The sweep of distinctions across both preclinical and clinical subjects reflects consistent performance from the first year through to final examinations.

Friends, colleagues, and well-wishers have flooded social media with congratulations, describing the feat as a testament to hard work, discipline, and resilience.

“His success is a true reflection of hard work, resilience, and excellence, and we wish him greater accomplishments in his medical career ahead,” one congratulatory message read.

The 2024/2025 convocation has been highlighted across campus platforms as a moment of academic pride for Gombe State University.

Dr. Zamfara now moves into the next phase of his medical career, with expectations high for his contributions to healthcare in Nigeria.

🚨 BREAKING: SHOCKING ESCALATION IN AFRICA! NIGER DELIVERS DEVASTATING BLOW TO FRANCE, REVOKES 58-YEAR URANIUM CONCESSION IN BOLD SOVEREIGNTY POWER MOVE! 🇳🇪💥🇫🇷

In a stunning declaration of independence that is sending shockwaves through Paris and global energy markets, Niger has officially canceled France's decades-long stranglehold on its uranium riches at the strategic Arlit deposit.

After 58 years of control dating back to the 1968 concession granted to France’s Atomic Energy Commission (predecessor to Orano), the West African nation’s military government has pulled the plug. This is no minor dispute — it’s a full-throated resource nationalism earthquake that could cripple France’s nuclear energy supply and reshape alliances across the Sahel.

The Explosive Details:
- Cabinet decree on May 18, 2026, chaired by military leader Abdourahamane Tchiani, formally revoked the historic Arlit concession.

- Niger cites Orano’s alleged failure to pay surface royalties and repeated non-compliance despite multiple warnings.

- This builds on prior aggressive moves: revoking Orano’s license at the massive Imouraren mine and nationalizing operations at SOMAIR.

- Niger is now creating its own uranium company (TSUMCO) to take full control and market the resource directly on the global stage — potentially striking deals with new partners like Russia.

France, which relies heavily on Nigerien uranium for its nuclear-powered economy, is reeling. For generations, critics argue, Paris extracted vast wealth from these mines while Niger remained one of the poorest nations on Earth. Now, the junta is flipping the script: “Uranium belongs to Niger!”

This isn’t just about mining licenses — it’s a geopolitical bombshell. Since the 2023 coup, Niger has expelled French troops, cut military ties, and pivoted toward greater sovereignty. Today’s move signals the end of an era of perceived exploitation and the dawn of a new, assertive Africa.
