FALSE ACCUSATION NEARLY COST AN INNOCENT WOMAN HER LIFE IN JOS
A heartbreaking incident unfolded on Monday in Jos, Plateau State, where a woman was falsely accused of stealing a man’s ge****ls a baseless and superstitious claim made by a drunk man. Without verifying the truth, a mob descended on her, beating her with sticks and nearly setting her on fire.
Thankfully, some residents who knew the woman intervened, demanded verification, and discovered that the accuser’s ge****ls were intact. The accusation was completely false. The woman, now in medical care, survived but not without serious injuries and trauma.
This is another tragic reminder of how dangerous and destructive jungle justice can be.
Too often, innocent people are brutally attacked based on rumors, superstition, or hysteria, without any form of investigation or due process. These actions destroy lives, deepen ignorance, and weaken our society.
Experts and authorities have confirmed that these kinds of accusations are not scientifically valid and often stem from mental health issues or mass panic, not reality.
We must speak up.
We must do better.
We must say NO to jungle justice.
👉 Let’s demand justice for the innocent woman.
👉 Let’s educate our communities.
👉 Let’s end violence rooted in fear and ignorance.
