“After We Captured the Real Leader of Boko Haram, I Was Retired, Arrested, and Detained” –Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi Speaks Out...

In a dramatic and deeply revealing letter to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, retired Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi has shed light on what he describes as a disturbing turn of events following a major breakthrough in Nigeria's fight against terrorism.

According to the senior officer, after successfully leading an elite task force that apprehended key figures within the Boko Haram insurgency-including what he called the “real leader” of the terror group-he was not celebrated, but instead met with retaliation: compulsory retirement, arrest, and 64 days of solitary confinement.

Ali-Keffi, who once commanded the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division and served as the General Officer Commanding (GOC), was handpicked to head “Operation Service Wide,” a presidentially sanctioned counter-terrorism investigative team.

The operation reportedly uncovered not only the masterminds of Boko Haram but also a network of financiers, including senior government officials, military officers, and top financial institutions.

“The moment we arrested some of these individuals and started exposing the financial pipelines of terror, the backlash began,” Ali-Keffi revealed in his correspondence. He contends that powerful interests within and outside the government moved swiftly to suppress the operation and silence those behind it.

Even more shockingly, the General raised concerns about the tragic death of Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Nigeria’s late Chief of Army Staff, who died in a plane crash in 2021. According to Ali-Keffi, the late COAS was determined to go after terror financiers and had endorsed the work of Operation Service Wide.

The General subtly implied that Attahiru’s death may not have been accidental, urging President Tinubu to revisit the incident and open a transparent investigation into both the crash and the broader sabotage of anti-terror efforts.

The allegations made by General Ali-Keffi, now in the public domain, have ignited calls for accountability. While the federal government has yet to issue an official response, the implications of his testimony are profound. If true, they point to a deeply entrenched system where fighting terrorism is undermined from within, and brave efforts to protect the nation are punished rather than praised.

Ali-Keffi’s whistleblowing has added a new dimension to Nigeria’s complex security challenges. His story raises urgent questions: Who truly benefits from the prolonged war against insurgency? And why are those fighting it from within the system being silenced?

Until these questions are answered with transparency and courage, the nation’s fight against terror may remain compromised—not by lack of will or strategy, but by internal betrayal at the highest levels.

The àgony of a Mother: 'I watched in hòrròr as five bàndits ràpèd my 13-year-old daughter after kìllìng my husband' - Plateau woman criès out

A young woman whose husband was killèd by Fulani bàndits has narrated how five of the bàndits gàng-ràped her 13-year-old daughter in her presence while the body of her husband lay beside her.

The woman who narrated her hòrrific experience on Tuesday, said the Fulani bàndits invaded her community in Bwai district in Mangu local government area of Plateau State in the night and went from house to house slàughtering people and livestock.

"The Fulani bàndits, who were over 100, invaded our community around 12 midnight and went from house to house killìng people, steàling our livestock, and killìng some of them.

They also bùrnt down some houses and food silos. When they got to our house, they asked about my husband, who was one of the leaders of the vigilante group. It was clear they knew my husband and had come purposefully to kìll him.

“When my husband heard them, he ran into the toilet to hide but when they threatenèd to kiìl me and our 13-year-old daughter, he came out and surrendered himself. He begged them to kìll him instead and spare me and our daughter.

“Luckily, our two older sons were in the boarding school; otherwise, they would have been killèd too.

One of the Fulani men told my husband, John, yau na ka ya kare. Ba kun kafa kungiya domin ku yi tare mu ba? Ina sauran mutanen ku?’ (John, today will be your end. So you people formed a group to stop us? So where are the remaining members of your group?)

“Having said that, he ordered one small boy who could not be more than 17 years old to sh00t my husband, and the boy carried out the orders immediately.

“I was busy begging them not to kill me and my daughter and the leader said they were not out to kìll women. The leader was looking at my daughter somehow, and I feared for the wòrst.

My fears were confirmed when he told my daughter to remove her clòthes and lie on the bed, that they were going to have sèx with her.

“I begged them not to dèfile my daughter, and out of desperation, offered to be ràpèd in her place, but they said I was old and they needed to taste a young girl. That was how the five of them gàng-ràped my little girl, and even when she pàssed out, they still continued assàulting her.

“The most hèartbrèaking part of the ordeal was that they made sure I watched what they were doing, and every time I turned my face away, they would slàp me and threatened to sh00t me if I refused to look. For over one hour, I watched in horròr as the animals took turns to ràpe my daughter.

“Since the ordeal, the girl has not been the same again. She has become a recluse and hardly talks to anyone. I have not shared this hòrrible experience with anyone to protect her, but I am opening up now to see if I can get help for my daughter, as her condition is becoming wòrse. She can no longer control her blàdder and urinàtes on her body without control.

“I am a poor widow just managing to take care of my children but my life has been shàttered,” she said, breaking down in te6ars.

MY NAME IS ALIYU NASARA UMAR, AND I AM A FULL CHRISTIAN WHO CONVERTED FROM ISLAM.

I was born and raised in a deeply Islamic family. My father is a respected Muslim scholar, a teacher of Islamic scriptures and prophetic traditions.
But through years of searching for truth, deep study, and divine encounters, I discovered that the path of salvation is only in Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.

I realized that the foundation of my former religion could not give me salvation, peace, or the assurance of eternal life. This is why I left Islam and embraced the light of the Gospel of Christ.

Today, I boldly declare that Jesus Christ is the only Savior of the world, the true Way that leads to God, and the only One who gives forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Therefore, the Gospel must be preached. I will never run away or retreat. I will continue to expose every teaching that turns people away from salvation and prevents them from knowing Jesus Christ.

Anyone who abandons Christianity to follow any other path should understand that they are walking away from the only salvation God has provided through Christ.
