Biafra: "Don't Touch Ralph Uwazuruike," BIM-MASSOB Warns Police

OWERRI - IMO STATE: The leadership of Biafra Independence Movement, BİM, and MASSOB have condemned in a very strong terms, the police summon extended to its leader, Barr.(Chief) Ralph Uwazuruike, and warned - "Don't Touch Ralph Uwazuruike."

İn a press statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Biafra Independence Movement, BİM, and Director of information of MASSOB, Mazi Chris Mocha --while condemning the Police invitation, said it was against democratic principles and, a violation of the leader's fundamental human rights.

The pro-Biafra groups insisted that its leader, and İjele Ndigbo, Ralph Uwazuruike had never committed any offence by volunteering to join a Nationwide 'peaceful' protest for the release of the detained leader of indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The police summon according to the statement was a ploy to arrest and possibly detain its leader, and İjele Ndigbo, Ralph Uwazuruike .

Recall that Uwazuruike had during the weekend dragged the İmo State Police Command, and others to Owerri High Court to enforce his fundamental human rights.

MASSOB described its leader, Ralph Uwazuruike Esq, as a peaceful man who leads a peaceful organization in Nigeria for the past 26 years and has demostrated his penchant for peaceful dialogue and respect for the rule of law while advocating for the Self-determination for Biafra.

KANU: MASSOB Applauds Uwazuruike's Willingness To Join As One Of Kanu’s Defense Witnesses

The leadership of MASSOB has applauded its leader, and Ijele Ndigbo, Ralph Uwazuruike, for taken a pragmatic approach to the issues surrounding the prolonged detention of the leader of indigenous people of Biafra ,IPoB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

Uwazuruike had declared his readiness to be part of Kanu's Defense witnesses.

This pragmatic approach challenges Ohanaeze Ndigbo , Igbo National Assembly, and all Igbo groups to be vehement in protesting the oppression of their people and forcefully speak out in their defense.

Founder of Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra ,MASSOB, Barr: (Chief) Ralph Uwazuruike, is one Nigerian of Eastern descent whose stand on the issue of marginalization of his people is well known.

Apart from leading BIM-MASSOB - a Non-violent and Non-exodus resistant movement which canvasses for Self-Determination as solution to the plight of S'E and parts of the Igbo speaking people in Delta, Rivers, Akwaibom, Cross River and Bayelsa States within the larger Nigerian federation, Uwazuruike did not mince words when he accused the Nigerian Government of being double standard.

MASSOB recalled that when Uwazuruike was granted a partial release on Friday, October 26, 2007 by a Federal High Court in Abuja after spending 2 years and 1 day in solitary confinement, he wondered why he should be let out on a three month bail to enable him bury his late Mother Ezinne Monica Uwazuruike when 10 of his members which included Comrade Uchenna Madu, Mr. Ambrose Anyaso, and others were still in detention in Keffi prison.

After the burial of his late mother on Saturday, January 19, 2008, on January 22, Uwazuruike submitted himself to the İmo State Police Command, Owerri, and insisted on being taken into custody.

Uwazuruike said, 'it is morally wrong for me to stay a day longer outside the prison when my colleagues in the struggle, charged for the same offence are still languishing in Keffi prison'.

Uwazuruike who accused the Nigerian Government of double standard lamented that the leaders of other ethnic Nationalities such as Alhaji Asari Dokubo of Niger Delta-- Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), and factional leaders of Odua People's Congress (OPC) , Dr Fredrick Fasehun and Otumba Ganihu Adams were released with all their members.

Uwazuruike insisted on sitting by the roadside in front of the police headquarters, Owerri, the İmo State Capital, for hours unless he was taken into police custody.

But as it turned out, the İmo State Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Ahmed Yusuf refused to take him into custody, insisting that Uwazuruike's case was beyond him to handle.

Just few days ago, as Ojukwu successor to the prestigious Chieftaincy title of İjele Ndigbo, Ralph Uwazuruike, in a viral live video opted to join as one of the Defense witnesses of the detained leader of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPoB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement, MASSOB's Director of information/ Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to BIM-MASSOB, Mazi Chris Mocha applauded their leader for the pragmatic approach, and by his willingness to join other lawyers to demand for Kanu's release in a Non-violent manner.

By taking this bold stand, İjele Ndigbo, as a father has challenged the Apex- Igbo- Socio- Cultural- Organization , the Governors from S'E, members of İgbo National Assembly , and all Igbo groups to be vehement in protesting the oppression of their people and forcefully speak out in their defense.

Why Non-Violence Is the Strongest Weapon Against Oppression

History has taught us that guns can silence bodies, but truth silences empires. When Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike chose non-violence as the weapon for Biafra’s self-determination, many mocked him. They called him a coward, a betrayer, a saboteur, a fake lawyer.

But today, the world recognizes that non-violence is the reason Biafra now has a functioning internal government, acknowledged internationally.

Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, Uwazuruike adopted two unshakable principles:
1. Non-violence – refusing to shed blood, even in the face of massacre.
2. Non-exodus – never abandoning the land of his fathers, no matter the danger.

From 1999 till today, BIM-MASSOB has endured: Over 4,000 killings by security forces. Mass arrests, torture, and detention without trial. Seizure and destruction of properties, homes, and headquarters.

Yet, no gun was fired in revenge. No bomb exploded in retaliation.

Instead, Uwazuruike declared: “I will not pick up arms to fight back.
If Biafra will come, let it come through peace.”

The world initially ignored Biafra. But the consistent, peaceful approach of BIM-MASSOB forced attention to Nigeria’s human rights abuses.

2003: The Umulolo Massacre shocked the conscience of the world.
2005: After Uwazuruike was arrested 16 times, his refusal to fight back made human rights bodies listen.
2020: Biafra was admitted into UNPO as its 46th member, with later recognition by CONIFA Football Federation.

From the United Nations to the U.S. Congress, the world began documenting Nigeria’s genocide against an unarmed people. Non-violence became Biafra’s loudest voice.

Oppression feeds on conflict. When the oppressed refuse to fight back violently, the world sees clearly who the oppressor is. Guns kill bodies, but non-violence exposes lies. Silence in peace can be louder than war cries.

This is why BIM-MASSOB today stands as the moral voice of the Igbo nation, carrying the legacy of Ojukwu (1967–1970) into a new Biafra recognized internationally.

On 13th September 2025, as BIM-MASSOB marked 26 years of unwavering non-violent struggle, the leadership sent a message to all genuine pro-Biafra groups:
“The biggest structure of BIM-MASSOB is non-violence because Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike knows the rudiments of the struggle anchored on the Montevideo Convention of 1933.

The moment you embrace violence, that is the end of your struggle. You automatically become an illegal organization, one that seeks a Republic through unlawful means.

Our struggle must never be anchored on money or selfish interests. This non-violence structure has given BIM-MASSOB visible and invisible physical structures across Biafra land and Nigeria. These structures stand as proof of growth, truth, and endurance.

Nigeria’s government will always try to tempt you into violence, because they know once you cross that line, you lose your legitimacy. They tried it with Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, but he proved his mastery of non-violence as defined in the Montevideo Convention.

Non-violence is not weakness; it is truth. And truth always wins.”

This BIM-MASSOB Month, the Ministry of Information under Ijeomah Anthony calls on every Biafran to:
1. Embrace non-violence as the unshakable foundation of our freedom.
2. Reject violence, no matter the provocation.
3. Tell our story without fear, for truth is our weapon.
4. Support the Biafra Internal Government, the living proof that peace wins where war fails.

“Non-violence is not weakness. It is the strongest weapon of the righteous. Through peace, we will inherit our nation.”

As we celebrate 26 years of BIM-MASSOB’s non-violence, let every pro-Biafra group understand: The world now listens to Biafra because we refused to fight with guns.

Biafra: Kudos To MASSOB At 26
Says Despite Several Attempts By The Enemy To Weaken Us, We Are Still Stronger, Consistent, focused

OWERRİ -- İMO STATE: The Biafra Independence Movement, BİM, has said that members of the Organization are still united, consistent, focused and stronger despite several attempts by the Federal Government to sabotage the struggle.

The road to achieving Biafra as a Sovereign State is slippery and having a tough time of it, but said that positive results have been made and Biafra is being discussed all over the world.

The pro- Biafra Organization has just celebrated 26 years anniversary of the founding of Movement for The Actualization of The Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) on September 13, 2025.

İn a statement endorsed by the MASSOB's Director of information and Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Biafra Independence Movement, Mazi Chris Mocha, mentioned Nigeria , and her foreign collaborators as the number one enemy of the struggle.

At 26, BIM-MASSOB ranked the best among other pro-Biafra groups in terms of structures and achievements.

BIM-MASSOB's physical structures included Biafra Bill of Rights which was submitted to the United Nations on November 1, 1999, by Barrister (Chief) Ralph Uwazuruike.

The prestigious İnternational Library named after the former Head of State of the Defunct Biafra, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu -Ojukwu-- Memorial Library, New Owerri, The İmo State Capital.

Other existing physical structures are; NON- violence and NON-exodus methods of our agitation for Biafra which has gained İnternational acceptance.

That Ralph Uwazuruike is also depending on the MONTEVİDEO CONVENTİON OF 1933 which was established by many Sovereign Nations to guide our struggle for the realization of the State of Biafra is BIM-MASSOB's greatest achievements.

MASSOB's structures also included our Regional offices in all the local Governments in the states making up Biafra;

That BIM-MASSOB aside these verifiable offices also built Secretariats in each Senatorial zones in S'E and parts of the S'South where our members could be contacted;

That Biafra is a member of Unrepresented Nations And Peoples Organization, UNPO, is through the efforts of BIM-MASSOB;

That Biafra Football Federation, BFF, is also a member of Confideration of İndependent Football Associations, CONIFA, is through the instrumentality of BIM-MASSOB;

That Biafra is an EXİSTİNG State like Taiwan, Tibet, Hong- Kong, Scotland, is one of the greatest achievements of BIM-MASSOB;

That Biafra foreign Affairs ministry is engaging -- in talks with friendly Nations and the assurances they are currently getting from those countries have spurred our determination to continue pushing forward for our freedom.

Mocha added that the quest for Self-Determination struggle for Biafra through non-violence and non-exodus philosophy still remains unstoppable and unshakable, he concluded.

How BIM-MASSOB Preserved Ojukwu’s Legacy

In the heart of every Biafran, one name remains eternal: Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, the visionary father of the 1967–1970 Biafra.

He gave our people a voice when the world tried to silence us. He gave a flag when others saw only despair. And though the first Biafra was silenced by war, its soul never died.

After the civil war ended in January 1970, Biafrans were left with: Broken cities, mass graves, scattered dreams.

Yet, in 1999, a young lawyer and son of the East, Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, dared to pick up the torch of Ojukwu, not with guns, but with faith and courage.

He declared to the world: “Biafra will live again, but this time without war.”

This was the birth of MASSOB, a movement to resuscitate Ojukwu’s Biafra in the language of peace, law, and non-violence.

Chief Ralph Uwazuruike built the New Biafra on three foundations:
1. Non-Violence (Gandhi’s Principle): no more blood, no more war
2. Non-Exodus (Stay and Build): we will not run; we will stay in our land and develop it.
3. International Recognition: to gain the world’s respect, not its fear

Through arrests, torture, and massacres, the movement never fought back.

Instead, BIM-MASSOB became the heartbeat of Ojukwu’s dream, proving that:
The spirit of 1967 can live without guns where a functioning Biafra Government can rise within law and the world can recognize a peaceful Biafra.

Today, the Biafra Internal Government (BIG) stands as proof that: Ojukwu’s dream has been reborn and Uwazuruike’s faith has borne fruit With: 6th Prime Minister, Elder Virginia Ubazuonu, 7th Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Chief Linus Iweanya, Chief Justice of Biafra, Justice Augustina Ugwuoke, ministries, including Information, under Hon. Ijeomah Anthony.

Biafra now operates a recognized internal government, bridging the sacrifice of the past with the victory of today.
Why Ojukwu’s Spirit Smiles Today? Because in BIM-MASSOB, he sees: The innocent blood of Umulolo and Nkpor not forgotten. The 26 years of non-violent struggle rewarded. The flag of Biafra flying in international forums like UNPO and CONIFA.

Chief Ralph Uwazuruike preserved Ojukwu’s legacy, as he promised, not by repeating the war, but by finishing the journey he began, leading us to a living, functioning, and peaceful Biafra.

As we mark BIM-MASSOB Month this September, the Ministry of Information calls every Biafran to remember: Ours is a Nation. Ojukwu lit the torch. Uwazuruike carried it to victory.

SEPTEMBER 13TH: REASON WHY RALPH UWAZURUIKE SHOULD BE AWARDED "NOBEL PEACE" PRICE.

The situation of today in the whole NIGERIA have literally thought us what "VIOLENCE" is all about. If you have any argument about this, just embark on a trip to imo state first. Over there you will witness the ACT OF FEROCITY in display. The world should make out time to APPRECIATE any group, organization, individual or structure that follow the part of PEACE as a way of ACHIEVING life goals.

Are you aware that BIM/MASSOB have over FOUR MILLION members home and abroad under the leadership of RALPH UWAZURUIKE . Those who traditionally , religiously and PUNCTILIOUS in observation of the principle of NON-VIOLENCE in all their day to day activities?. IF NOT HIM hmm, ebelebe for don happen.

13TH SEPTEMBER 2025 IS MASSOB 26TH BIRTHDAY.

HEAR THIS:
There is no way one can enjoy peace if VIOLENCE is not well understood. Some area or nearly all the parts of the SOUTH EAST 🇱🇾 is as of this moment still WITNESSING insecurity in a pitiful way. VIOLENCE makes PEACE what it is because PEACE is determined by a process of adventure between what people, group or state want. WE can call peace also NON-VIOLENCE due to in the period of peace, there is always show of love, progress, unity, growth, protection, development and relatively peace of mind .

IF NON-VIOLENCE IS A RELIGION:
It means peace is based on a consequence of divine power and it involved a corresponding structure of expectations and balance pattern of cooperation between two people, groups , governments or nations. Bringing the situation of imo state, Ukraine and gaza in focus and what violence has done to our society and HUMANITY at large is untellable, please permit my jargon. It is horrible.

IF:
VIOLENCE can be described or defined as an EXTREME form of aggression, such as r**e, murder, fighting, assault or abuse. It is a NEGATIVE behavior that involves physical force, intended to cause harm, damage, injury, abuse, pain, suffering, insensitive killings and which eventually we know that such action always BEGAT
anarchy if I should use KING JAMES Bible terminology .

ALSO:
VIOLENCE is a behavior involving improper act such as physical injustice, brute force, roughness, savagery or cruelty, inhumanity, death, heartlessness, sa**sm, barbarity, brutality, destructiveness, anarchy, r**e, fierceness, ruthlessness, mercilessness, anger, harm, ferocity, outrage, assault, vehemence, intensity, child abuse, sexual offences and manslaughter. This words above, I think looks like ARMAGEDDON happening. It makes life sorrowful and meaningless .

VIOLENCE is the ugly behavior that is intentional, unwanted, non-essential and harmful behavior to others. It has done more harm in the society than good. Check different parts of the world, all the places we witness war today, famine, destruction of lives and properties, fear of probable situation and HUNGER is the order of the day. Do you know that KWASHIORKOR have resurfaced in EUROPE and ASIA but they are too shy to call it that name, they rather call it HUNGER a.k.a STARVATION in order to justify that unholy aggression against BIAFRA in 1967.

TO ENJOY PEACE:
There should be absence of killing people. We should avoid violence of any kind. PEACE is an absence of legally or illegally declared war. That word PEACE is used to represent the absence of conflict. It is referred to as a period of rest and tranquility. It is a STRESS-FREE of security and calmness that comes when there is no FIGHTING of war whether verbally or physically, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom.
13TH SEPTEMBER was a great SENSE launched for PEACE for the first time from African soil. we should embrace peace.

WHICH MEANS:
PEACE is equilibrium among many forces. PEACE is true creed for freedom and education without indoctrination. But that is truth.

ON 13TH SEPTEMBER 2025, A LIFE SAVING ORGANIZATION-MASSOB WILL BE 26 YEARS.

The only way i think to overcome this monster called insecurity is to include NON-VIOLENCE course as part of our education syllables. It has come to stay in Biafra land. Congratulations to MASSOB for that ideology.

Remember:
TRUTH IS PROMOTED THROUGH NON-VIOLENCE.

Cheers: BIM na MASSOB.
Long live: IJELE NDIGBO 👑 .

BIM-MASSOB @ 26: A Journey of Faith, Tears, and Triumph

Every nation that breathes freedom today once began as a dream in the heart of the brave. For Biafra, that dream was reborn in 1999 through the courage of Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike and the movement he founded MASSOB, now BIM-MASSOB.

It was not a dream built with guns, but with courage, sacrifice, and unshakable faith. It was a dream watered with blood, tears, and resilience.

For 26 years (1999–2025), BIM-MASSOB has walked through fire and survived betrayal, yet still stands as the living proof that Biafra lives.

1999 – The Dawn of a New Hope, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike launched MASSOB in Lagos, drawing inspiration from Gandhi’s non-violence. Ojukwu’s 1967 dream was reborn, this time without guns.

2000 – The First Blood, Joseph Okereke and Gabriel Ogu were killed by police bullets. Uwazuruike vows: “We will not take up arms.”

2001 – December Tragedies, On December 4, four MASSOB members were gunned down. On December 21, the National Secretariat in Okigwe was burnt down. Uwazuruike was arrested, but the movement refused to die.

2003 – Umulolo Massacre, March 29: Hundreds of unarmed Biafrans were massacred. Nigeria thought fear will silence Biafra—but instead, it fuelled the fire of resistance.

2005 – The Year of Raids, the Okwe headquarters was raided repeatedly. Uwazuruike was arrested 16 times. 1,581 policemen were deployed to hunt unarmed agitators. Yet MASSOB refused to retaliate.

2008 – The Walk of Faith and the Betrayal at Akabo, Ikeduru, thousands set out on a peaceful march from Okwe to Enugu, determined to prove that Biafra will rise without a gun. But at Akabo in Ikeduru, Governor Ikedi Ohakim deployed armored personnel carriers and fierce-looking policemen to block our path. The rally was forcefully terminated, yet the message resounds: Biafra’s march cannot be stopped.

2011 – Uwazuruike and 280 MASSOB Members Arrested, during a function in Enugu honoring Ojukwu, Uwazuruike and hundreds were arrested. Days later, President Goodluck Jonathan ordered their release.

2012 – Fresh Blood in Anambra, the Human Rights Writers’ Association condemned the killing of 16 MASSOB members by security agencies in Anambra.

2013 – The Horror of Ezu River, February, the world was shocked as dozens of Massob corpses floated on Ezu River at the boundary of Enugu and Anambra States. We cried to the world on many of the bodies of our members—arrested, executed without trial, and dumped like animals. It became one of the darkest stains on Nigeria’s human rights record.

2015 – Bloody Anniversary, on September 13, as MASSOB marked its 16th anniversary, police stormed gatherings in Anambra, arrested dozens and shot at some. Even in the House of God, Massob members were not spared.

Cross River Mass Arrests, in Calabar, State Security agents, police, and Civil Defence operatives arrested 47 MASSOB members, including the zonal leader Samuel Okah, during a peaceful march at Odukpani Junction. Once again, unarmed agitators were criminalized for daring to dream.

2017 – Remembering the Nkpor and Afara Massacres, the blood of IPOB and other pro-Biafra martyrs added to the river of sacrifice. Slowly, the world begins to listen.

2020 – Biafra on the World Stage, April 22, Admitted as the 46th member of UNPO.
October 17: CONIFA recognizes Biafra Football Federation. Biafra’s flag now waves in the international arena.

2020-2025 – A Functioning Government, now under the leadership of Elder Virginia Ubazuonu, the 6th Prime Minister of Biafra Internal Government (BIG) begins a new era of leadership. BIM-MASSOB’s 26 years of non-violence become the foundation of recognition of sovereignty by the UN, EU, AU and international diplomacy.

A Nation Built on Graves, Yet Alive with Victory, Behind every milestone stands a martyr’s grave.

Over thousands of members killed between 1999 and 2025. Homes burnt. Families destroyed. Leaders humiliated.

Yet, one truth remains: BIM-MASSOB never lifted a gun.

The world cannot deny it, through non-violence and non-exodus, Uwazuruike and his followers forced the international community to recognize Biafra, that's why we running a functioning government in Biafra land.

This September, the Ministry of Information calls every Biafran to:
1. Remember the fallen.
2. Celebrate the survivors.
3. Tell the world our story of victory through peace.

Because Biafra today is more than a dream, it is a government, a flag, a voice.

“Our nation is alive because we refused to die in silence. Twenty-six years of tears have now become the river of freedom.”

BIM-MASSOB at 26 is not just an anniversary, it is proof that no amount of bullets, prisons, rivers of corpses, or betrayals can silence the cry for freedom.

Biafra lives. Biafra rises. And Biafra will stand forever.

The Man Behind the Mission: Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike’s Life of Sacrifice

Every nation that rises from oppression has a messenger of destiny; a man who chooses to carry the burden of millions on his shoulders.

For the new Biafra, that man is Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, the fearless leader who turned pain into purpose and sacrifice into sovereignty.

Born in the heart of Igboland, Ralph Uwazuruike did not set out to become a revolutionary. He was a lawyer trained in India, where he studied not only political science as a first degree and law as second degree, but also the peaceful philosophies of Mahatma Gandhi.

Where others saw war as the only answer to injustice, Uwazuruike saw non-violence as the true weapon that could awaken the conscience of the world.

On September 13, 1999, he founded the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). His dream was not just to revive Biafra, but to resurrect it in peace, without another drop of blood from our people.

The price of his vision was heavy. For 26 years, the Nigerian state hunted him like a criminal:

Arrested 16 times, detained in Suleja, Keffi, and Abuja DSS cells, often without trial.

His homes in Okwe and Okigwe were raided, his properties burnt, his family threatened, yet he refused to flee.

March 29, 2003 – Umulolo Massacre: Over hundreds of MASSOB members were killed in cold blood while traveling in a peaceful convoy. Uwazuruike was arrested that same day, watching his vision baptized in the blood of martyrs.

December 6, 2005 – Owerri Massacre: Another eight MASSOB members were shot dead, and international observers, including the British High Commission, condemned Nigeria’s brutality.

Yet, through all this, Uwazuruike never raised a gun, never called for revenge. He said:

“If taking up arms will give me Biafra, I would have done so since 1999.
But I will not give the world another war. My weapon is peace.”

His unyielding commitment transformed BIM-MASSOB into a recognized voice in the global community:

April 22, 2020 – Biafra admitted into UNPO as its 46th member state.

July 31 – August 2, 2020 – Uwazuruike proudly led the induction ceremony, declaring to the world that Biafra has returned in peace.

October 17, 2020 – Biafra Football Federation joined CONIFA, carrying our flag to the international sporting stage.

Today, thanks to his vision, Biafra Internal Government (BIG) stands as a functioning government that represents our people without war, without terror, and without shame.

This September, the Ministry of Information calls every Biafran to acknowledge the life of sacrifice of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike:

A man who watched thousands of his followers die but never retaliated. A man called a saboteur, a traitor, and a thief, yet remained unbroken. A man who chose the path of Gandhi and delivered a new Biafra to the world.

As BIM-MASSOB Month unfolds, let every story, every memory, and every post remind the world: Behind our nation stands a man who gave his life for peace.

Ours is a Nation. Ours is Biafra.
Long live Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike.

Ours Is a Nation: The New Biafra Rises from 1967–1970 Dreams

September has come again, and for us in Biafra Internal Government, this is no ordinary month. Through the leadership of the Ministry of Information, led by Comrade Ijeomah Anthony, we proudly declare September as BIM-MASSOB Month, a month to reflect, to honor, and to celebrate the journey of a people who refused to die, a nation that rose again without a single shot fired.

More than fifty years ago, from 1967 to 1970, the dream of Biafra was born under the courageous leadership of General Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. It was a dream soaked in sacrifice, blood, and hope; a dream violently silenced by war but never buried in the hearts of our people. The world saw our suffering, but for decades, the world turned away.

Then came a man who chose a different path, Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike. He looked at the scars of 1967–1970 and said: “Never again shall Biafra rise by war; Biafra shall rise by peace.” Through MASSOB, and later BIM-MASSOB, he began the quiet, unshakable journey of non-violent resistance and self-determination, walking in the footsteps of Gandhi.

For 26 years, our movement endured raids, arrests, and massacres:

March 29, 2003, at Umulolo, hundreds of our brothers were cut down for daring to wave the Biafra flag in a peaceful convoy.

December 2001 and 2005, our headquarters in Okwe burned while our martyrs fell one by one.

Over thousands BIM-MASSOB members were killed from 1999 to 2020, yet not a single rifle was fired in retaliation.

Today, September 2025, we speak not as victims, but as a functioning, internationally recognized government, the New Biafra. Through the resilience of BIM-MASSOB and the unwavering leadership of Uwazuruike, the dream of Ojukwu lives again in peace, in structure, and in international acceptance.

Biafra now stands as a nation with a government that represents our people, acknowledged by UNPO, accepted by CONIFA, respected across Africa, and international communities. Ours is a Nation.

As we open this month of remembrance and celebration, the Ministry of Information calls on every Biafran to reflect on these truths:

We are a people who turned blood into strength. We are a nation that chose peace over revenge.

And today, we rise not by war, but by the sacrifice and moral victory of BIM-MASSOB.

This September, we honor the fallen, we celebrate the living, and we rededicate ourselves to the vision of a Biafra that stands tall among nations.

Ours is a Nation. Ours is Biafra. God bless Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike. God bless Biafra Internal Government.

WAR PROFITEERING: WHY AFRICA IS KEPT IN CONFLICTS.

How the Global Arms Trade Fuels Silence on African Suffering

If peace truly mattered to the world, Africa would be a priority.

But time and again, when conflicts erupt in African nations: from Congo to Sudan, Nigeria to Ethiopia, there’s one thing you’ll almost never hear the international community say: “Let’s stop selling the weapons.”

Why? Because behind every war zone, behind every mass killing and destroyed village, there’s a factory somewhere cashing in.
This is the cruel truth: war in Africa is a business; and business is good.

The same countries that preach peace: the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, are the world’s biggest arms exporters.

They sell weapons to governments, factions, and armies across Africa, knowing full well the violence these tools unleash.

But what do they offer in return?

Not peacekeepers, Not healing, Not justice, just more arms… and more silence.

The latest proof? On August 15, 2025, the United States approved the sale of munitions, precision bombs, and rockets worth $346 million to the Nigerian government.

This comes at a time when Nigeria is riddled with insecurity: from Boko Haram in the North, to armed herdsmen in the Middle Belt, to violent militia groups in the South East, Biafra. Instead of addressing the root causes, the international response is to flood the region with more weapons.

This confirms the reality: peace is not profitable, but war is.

Here in Biafra, we live under constant existential threat. Militarized zones. Unlawful killings. Suppression of peaceful protests.

Yet, the same international powers that lecture the world on human rights remain silent.
Why?
Because there’s no urgency to end violence when violence is profitable.

Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike understood this. That is why he boldly chose the path of non-violence, not only to save lives, but also to refuse to fuel the global war economy.

He once declared: “Even if the world offers us weapons, Biafra will never go to war again.”

That is moral leadership. And it exposes an uncomfortable truth: those who profit from wars cannot be trusted to bring peace.

Every time a bullet is fired in Africa, someone far away gains. Every time peace is delayed, a contract is signed. And every time silence falls over African suffering, an arms dealer counts their profits.

Even Nigeria’s own political elite are complicit. Uwazuruike recently pointed out that South East politicians sponsor insecurity for their own political gain, arming unemployed youths with sophisticated weapons while the federal government looks away.

Instead of addressing the demand for justice, especially the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, which these armed groups use as justification, the government chooses silence. Why? Because insecurity itself has become a political weapon.

The Biafran struggle is peaceful by design. We reject war not because we are weak, but because we refuse to become fuel in someone else’s war machine.

If America and Europe truly cared about African peace, they would: Ban reckless arms sales to unstable governments; Hold war profiteers accountable; Treat African lives as human lives, not as part of a weapons market.

Instead of selling bombs to Nigeria, the international community should support dialogue, justice, and peaceful separation of Nigeria where necessary.

The truth is clear. Selling more weapons will never bring Africa peace. Only justice, accountability, and respect for the will of the people will.

If you want peace in Africa, stop feeding its wars.
