Promise Kept, Legacy Honoured: Hon. Osho Monsuru Donates ₦4.014m To Late Councillor Bakare’s Family

Hon. Osho Monsuru Damilare, the newly sworn-in Councillor representing Ward 5, has fulfilled a promise to the family of the late Hon. Bakare Abolore, former Ward 5 Councillor who passed away while serving his constituents.

During a prayer session held in honour of the late councillor’s wife as she marked an important transition from widowhood observances, Hon. Monsuru presented the family with a cheque plaque valued at ₦4,014,000 (Four Million, Fourteen Thousand Naira).

The gesture fulfilled a commitment he made before assuming office to support the family once he began enjoying the benefits and privileges attached to his tenure.

What made the intervention particularly significant was its scale. While some had anticipated periodic assistance, the councillor opted for a substantial one-off financial support, giving the family greater opportunity to address immediate needs and improve the welfare and future prospects of the late councillor’s children.

Beyond the financial value, the gesture has been described as a demonstration of compassion, responsibility and respect for the legacy of a colleague who died in active service to the people.

The family reportedly expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Monsuru for keeping his word and prayed for wisdom, good health and a successful tenure as he begins his service to Ward 5.

For many stakeholders, the gesture sends a broader message: leadership is not measured solely by the office one occupies, but also by the promises one keeps and the lives one touches.

By turning a pre-election commitment into tangible support, Hon. Osho Monsuru Damilare has begun his tenure with a strong statement of compassion and accountability.

‎Ogun 2027: Arewa Political Movement Quits APC, Says Over 49,000 Members Ready For New Political Direction

‎The Arewa Political Movement in Ogun State, under the chairmanship of Mallam Garba, has officially announced its withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing what it described as prolonged marginalisation, disrespect, injustice, disunity and unfulfilled promises by the current administration led by Governor Dapo Abiodun. The declaration was made on August 9, 2026, at a meeting in Sagamu, where the group expressed disappointment over years of political commitment without commensurate recognition or inclusion.

‎According to Mallam Garba, the movement played a significant role in mobilising Hausa communities across Ogun State and canvassing support for Governor Dapo Abiodun and other APC candidates during the 2019 elections, maintaining its loyalty and commitment to the Governor, and the party. He noted that the group’s notable recognition within the administration was his appointment as a member of the Dapo Abiodun Transition Committee ahead of the Governor’s assumption of office in 2019, while repeated efforts to secure broader inclusion for members yielded no result. He said the group is no longer prepared to accept what he described as a “use-and-dump” approach, alleging that its members are predominantly remembered during election periods.

‎Mallam Garba further disclosed that the movement has about 49,000 PVC-holding, card-carrying members across Ogun State, describing the figure as a substantial political force whose support could significantly influence the success of candidates in the 2027 elections. He maintained that the movement’s structures across the state, local government areas and wards have resolved to discontinue their support for the APC, pointing particularly to recent appointments which, according to him, further demonstrated the group’s concerns about inadequate recognition of loyal contributors.

‎Speaking on behalf of the elders and stakeholders of the group, Alh. Bashir Ibrahim, also expressed concerns over what he described as injustice and lack of compensation and commitment to the group, insisting that withdrawing from the APC was the appropriate decision. While the group’s next political direction is yet to be formally announced, Mallam Garba assured his followers that he would continue to discharge his responsibilities as a reputable leader, while remaining committed to providing purposeful direction for the movement. He further declared his readiness to fully mobilise, canvass and genuinely support whichever political platform he and his tens of thousands of followers ultimately choose, with the objective of working for the victory of their preferred candidates across the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship and Presidency in 2027.

‎The meeting was attended by several leaders, stakeholders and executives of the movement, including Alh. Usman Tasiu, Alh. Mande Salisu, Mallam Adamu Sabiu, Alh. Maikudi Muhammad, Engr. Dahiru Sanni and Mallam Sammani Anjamil, among others.

RGDF, RYA Set To Host 3rd Edition Of Remo International Youth Day 2026, Championing Youth Empowerment For Sustainable Future

The Remo Growth and Development Foundation (RGDF), under the leadership of its Chairman, Otunba Seni Adetu, in partnership with the Remo Youth Association (RYA) led by Comrade Muyiwa Osularu (Eleda), is set to host the 3rd edition of the Remo International Youth Day 2026 in commemoration of the global August 12 International Youth Day celebration.

With the theme, “Youth Empowerment for a Sustainable Future,” the event is scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m at the Akarigbo Palace Hall, Sagamu, Ogun State. The programme will feature inspiring sessions, practical workshops, networking opportunities, and impactful engagements aimed at equipping and empowering youths across Remo Land.

The highly anticipated gathering is expected to attract notable personalities, dignitaries, community leaders, and youth stakeholders from across Remo Land.
