Distinguished Traditional Rulers, Elders, Leaders, Stakeholders, Women and Youth Leaders, Members of the C.D.C., and the good people of Sagbama Federated Community,
I stand before you today with a heart full of gratitude to Almighty God for granting me the opportunity, strength, wisdom, and good health to serve as Chairman of our Community Development Committee for the past two years.
Serving as C.D.C. Chairman has been both a great honour and a tremendous responsibility. I accepted this role with the understanding that leadership is not about personal glory, but about service, sacrifice, accountability, peace, and the development of our people. This is what I proudly called “Favoured Community Service.”
During my tenure, together with the C.D.C. Executive, former Youth President Comr. Akpos Oruensigha, present Youth President Comr. Joseph Egodo, the Women’s leadership, Non-Indigene representatives, Quarter Chairmen, stakeholders, and the entire community, we worked tirelessly to promote peace, unity, security, development, and the welfare of our people.
We faced challenges and difficult moments. However, through dialogue, patience, consultation, and collective wisdom, we were able to resolve many issues and move forward as one united Sagbama.
APPRECIATION
I sincerely appreciate everyone who supported this administration.
Special appreciation goes to His Royal Majesty, King Boloyi Sufadoh, the Ab Amananaowei of Sagbama; HRH Moses Ojo Magbisa; and the entire Council of Chiefs.
Thank you for your guidance, wisdom, fatherly counsel, and support throughout my tenure.
To our political leaders and stakeholders, thank you for your cooperation and support.
To our Quarter Chairmen, C.D.C. appointees, youths, women, families, committee members, volunteers, and all stakeholders, I sincerely appreciate your contributions, understanding, and commitment.
SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO OWEINAMAZI QUARTER
Your trust, unity, cooperation, and prayers made it possible for me to serve effectively and achieve meaningful progress together.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our community from Oweinamazi Quarter, and I sincerely appreciate the confidence and support you placed in me throughout my tenure.
I wish to specially appreciate Hon. Robert Nanakumor, Chairman of Oweinamazi Quarter, for standing firmly by me and ensuring that I successfully carried out my responsibilities as C.D.C. Chairman despite the many challenges we encountered.
Your steadfast support, encouragement, and commitment to the progress of our community will never be forgotten.
SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO HON. ENGR. BOLOEBI EDEREKUMO BELGIUM
My profound appreciation also goes to our brother, Hon. Engr. Boloebi Ederekumo Belgium, for his remarkable contributions to the development and advancement of our community.
Among his notable interventions are:
1. 20,000-litre Solar Borehole Water Project.
2. Road Construction and Rehabilitation.
3. Installation of Radio House Musical Equipment.
4. Provision of over 3,000 Solar Street Lights.
5. Renovation of Community Primary School II.
6. Sponsorship of Free Medical Outreach Programmes.
7. Sponsorship of Community Festival Activities.
8. Support and welfare for elderly members of the community.
9. Several other developmental projects that have positively impacted the lives of our people.
In recognition of these outstanding contributions, I am pleased to present the Community Infrastructure Development Award 2026 to:

- His Royal Majesty, King Boloyi Sufadoh
- Hon. Michael Magbisa
May their continued commitment to community service inspire others to give back and contribute meaningfully to the development of our beloved community.
TO MY FELLOW C.D.C. EXECUTIVES AND MEMBERS
Whatever we achieved was the result of our collective efforts.
I therefore sincerely appreciate every Executive, Committee Member, Quarter Chairman, C.D.C. Appointees, and member of the Arbitration Committee.
The Arbitration Committee deserves special commendation for successfully handling and settling over 49 matters, thereby contributing significantly to peace and stability in our community.
No achievement was accomplished by one person alone. Every contribution, no matter how small, formed part of the progress we made together.
MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AND DEVELOPMENTS
2024–2026
During our tenure, the following major achievements and developmental projects were recorded:
1. Opening of Community Secondary School, Sagbama.
2. 10,000-litre Solar Borehole Water Project at Agbediowei Playground, Mile 3, through NDDC, with Engr. Boloebi E. Belgium as Contractor.
3. Renovation of Modern Secondary School through the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.
4. Renovation of Primary School III through the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.
5. Full renovation of Sagbama Community Town Hall through the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.
6. Construction of a Cassava Processing Mill, facilitated through NGO partners.
7. Road construction and rehabilitation across various parts of the community.
8. Obuware–Obama Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: Hon. Michael Magbisa.
9. Late Gov. Akpoebi Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: Hon. Michael Magbisa.
10. Elabest Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: HRM KING BOLOYI SUFADOH
11. Barrister Arthur Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: HRM KING BOLOYI SUFADOH.
12. Sand Field/Wellington Hotel Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: Hon. Michael Magbisa.
13. Opu Bai Road Project through NDDC; Contractor: Engr. Boloebi E. Belgium.
14. Sagbama Community Radio House, supported by Engr. Boloebi E. Belgium.
15. Installation of over 3,000 Solar Street Lights, facilitated by Engr. Boloebi E. Belgium.
16. Additional Solar Street Lights, facilitated by Hon. Francis Kolokolo and others.
17. Oxygen Production Plant at Sagbama General Hospital through the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri.
18. 10,000-litre Solar Borehole Water Project for Obuware Quarter through NDDC; Contractor: Engr. Boloebi E. Belgium.
19. Alemu Road/Endeley Street, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: Hon. Michael Magbisa.
20. Joel Road, facilitated by the Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri; Contractor: Hon. Michael Magbisa.
21. Sagbama Community Junction Market, facilitated to boost commerce and economic activities.
22. Handover cash sum of ₦135,000.00.
23. Provision of two SUMEC generators.
24. Provision of one laptop computer.
25. The NDDC Pavilion, Sagbama.
26. Community security and peace initiatives through collaboration with security agencies, traditional institutions, stakeholders, and community leaders.
These achievements belong to Sagbama Federated Community. They are a testament to what can be achieved when leaders, stakeholders, and the people work together with a common purpose.
THE HANDOVER
As I hand over the affairs of the C.D.C. today to Mr. Monday Captain Alemu, I do so with a clear conscience and a heart full of gratitude.
I am not handing over merely an office. I am handing over a responsibility that belongs to the entire community.
To the incoming Chairman and the new administration, I sincerely congratulate you and wish you a successful tenure.
I urge you to lead with humility, fairness, transparency, accountability, consultation, and respect for our elders and institutions.
Please always remember:
«“Leadership is Temporary, but the Community Remains.”»
Let political differences, personal interests, and individual ambitions never destroy the unity and peace of our people.
I appeal to every member of our community to give the new administration the same cooperation, understanding, and support that you gave to mine.
MY APOLOGY
Finally, I sincerely apologize to anyone I may have offended, knowingly or unknowingly, during my tenure.
Leadership is a journey, and no leader is perfect. If, in the course of carrying out my responsibilities, my words, actions, decisions, or approach caused pain or misunderstanding to anyone,
I sincerely ask for your forgiveness.
I leave this office with gratitude, not bitterness; with peace in my heart, not resentment; and with the satisfaction that I gave my best in the service of our people.
I may be leaving the office of C.D.C. Chairman, but I am not leaving my community.
I remain a son of Agbediowei of Sagbama Federated Community, and I will always be available to contribute my quota to the development of our people whenever I am called upon.
May Almighty God continue to bless our Traditional Rulers, Elders, Leaders, Families, Youths, Women, and every member of Sagbama Federated Community.
May He grant the new C.D.C. Administration wisdom, strength, courage, unity, peace, and success.
