MY PLEDGE TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF IFEDAPO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Dear people of Ifedapo Federal Constituency—Saki West, Saki East and ATISBO,

Politics should never be about promises made in the heat of emotions, political negotiations, or electoral desperation. It should be about trust, integrity, accountability, and service to the people.

As we approach 2027, I make this pledge to you:

I will not ask for your support based on empty promises. I will ask you to judge me by my record, my experience, my commitment, and my capacity to deliver.

I understand that political promises can sometimes be made under emotional circumstances and may not always survive changing interests. Therefore, I will not build my political commitment to Ifedapo on words alone. I will build it on principles, documented commitments, transparency, and actions that you can see and measure.

If given the opportunity to represent you, I pledge to make the people—not personal interests—the centre of my representation.

I pledge to listen to our communities.

I pledge to speak boldly for our people.

I pledge to pursue projects and opportunities that can improve the lives of our constituents.

RESETTING IFEDAPO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY: A NEW AGENDA FOR A NEW ERA

The recent experience in Osun has once again reminded us of a fundamental truth about democracy:

At the end of the day, it is the people who decide.

Not the party alone.
Not government alone.
Not political structures alone.
The people.

Political parties can provide platforms. Governments can provide influence and structures. Leaders can mobilise. But when citizens enter the polling booth, the power ultimately belongs to them.

That is the lesson we must take seriously as we approach the political future of Ifedapo Federal Constituency — Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo.

IT IS TIME TO RESET IFEDAPO

The question before us should not simply be: Which party will win?

The more important question is:

What kind of representation do the people of Ifedapo want?

We need to reset our political conversation from personalities to purpose, from performance promises to political control, and from political control to people-centred representation.

We need a Federal Constituency agenda built around:

Infrastructure — roads, electricity, water and other critical projects.

Agriculture — supporting our farmers and transforming our agricultural potential into wealth and employment.

Youth empowerment — skills, entrepreneurship, technology and opportunities for our young people.

Education — scholarships, vocational training and stronger educational infrastructure.

Healthcare — attracting meaningful Federal health interventions to our communities.

Security — making the safety of our people a priority.

Economic development — creating opportunities for traders, artisans, farmers, businesses and entrepreneurs.

Accountability — ensuring that the elected representative remains accessible and answerable to the people.

And above all:

UNITY — because Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo may have different communities, but we share one political destiny as Ifedapo Federal Constituency.

APM AND THE IFEDAPO RESET

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) provides the platform for this new political conversation, while Hon. Niyi Adebisi Olabode offers himself as a candidate around whom this agenda can be pursued.

But this must never become a campaign about a single individual.

The candidate is not the agenda. The people are the agenda.

Democracy thrives when leadership is periodically renewed. No elected office should become a permanent preserve of a few individuals when there are capable hands ready to offer fresh ideas and greater value.

After over a decade of representation in the National Assembly, it is fair for the people of Ifedapo Federal Constituency to assess the outcomes and ask whether our constituency has enjoyed the level of influence, visibility, and legislative impact it truly deserves.

Effective representation is measured not only by years in office but by the ability to build strategic alliances, contribute meaningfully to national debates, attract developmental opportunities, influence policy, and ensure that the constituency's voice is heard where critical decisions are made.

The time has come to look beyond familiar faces and embrace a new generation of purposeful leadership.

LEADERSHIP IS BEST REMEMBERED BY THE LIVES IT TOUCHES

For Hon. Niyi Adebisi, public service has always been about making a real difference in the lives of the people.

Understanding that good health is the foundation of every thriving community, he facilitated the enrollment of over 1,000 people across the Old Ifedapo Federal Constituency into the Oyo State Health Insurance Scheme, giving many families access to quality and affordable healthcare without the burden of overwhelming medical bills.

His commitment to better healthcare did not stop there. In honour of the Babalaje of Sakiland, Chief Michael Koleosho, a respected statesman and political father figure, Hon. Niyi Adebisi also facilitated the renovation of the theatre at the State Hospital, Saki, an intervention aimed at improving healthcare delivery and ensuring better medical services for our people.

These are not campaign promises. They are tangible results from a man who has consistently chosen service over rhetoric.
