Every Friday, the little boy left a chair empty at the dinner table.
His mother noticed it but never questioned him.
One evening, she finally asked, “Why do you always leave that chair empty?”
The boy smiled and said, “Because Daddy always said we should leave a seat for someone who needs it.”
That Friday, there was a knock at the door.
A tired-looking elderly man stood outside. He had lost his way and was looking for somewhere to rest while waiting for his family to find him.
The little boy immediately pulled out the empty chair.
“Daddy said there should always be room for someone.”
His mother smiled and welcomed the man inside.
They shared dinner, laughter, and stories.
Before leaving, the elderly man looked at the little boy and said,
“Your father taught you something very special.”
The boy simply smiled.
Sometimes, the lessons people leave in our hearts become more powerful than anything they could leave behind.
