The pregnancy that was never hers

Part 4
“I was scared… I didn’t want to lose you…”
And for a moment, Daniel closed his eyes.
Because the pain was not just about the surrogacy.
It was about the lie.
Months of fake nausea.
Fake doctor visits.
Fake belly.
Fake vulnerability.
Every memory replayed in his head — and it now felt like a performance.
Then he turned to Stephanie.
“You carried this child?”
“Yes.”
“You went through labor?”
“Yes.”
“You were willing to stand here and tell the truth?”
“Yes.”
The elders began murmuring.
Victoria moved closer to him.
“I did it for us. For our marriage.”
And then Daniel said something nobody expected.
“You should have trusted me enough to decide with me.”
Silence.
Then he added quietly:
“Not control the decision for me.”
That sentence broke something permanently.
Later that night, Daniel went to see Stephanie privately.
She was holding the baby.
He watched her carefully.
“You planned to expose her?”
Stephanie didn’t deny it.
“I was tired of pretending.”
He studied her face.
“And what exactly do you want?”
She didn’t hesitate.
“I want a family. And I’m already holding your son.”
That statement sat heavily in the room.
For the first time, Daniel saw something different.
Not just envy.
But boldness.
And strangely…
Honesty.Weeks passed.
Victoria begged.
Cried.
Apologized.
But trust had evaporated.
Daniel kept asking himself one question:
“If she could lie about something this big… what else could she hide?”
Meanwhile, Stephanie was present.
Attending hospital checkups.
Bonding with the baby.
Being transparent.
No pretending.
No acting.
One evening, Daniel made his decision.
He called a family meeting.
Victoria sat quietly, already sensing the outcome.
Daniel stood up and said:
“I cannot stay in a marriage where I was deceived this deeply.”
Victoria’s world collapsed.
He continued:
“This child deserves stability. And I cannot ignore the fact that Stephanie carried him… and told the truth.”
Gasps filled the room.
Then he said it clearly:
“I am choosing to build a future with Stephanie.”
Victoria broke down.
Stephanie didn’t smile.
But inside…
She had won.
The divorce was finalized.
Daniel and Stephanie married quietly months later.
Peace did not follow.
Because a relationship born from betrayal…
Carries its own curse.

The pregnancy that was never hers....

Part 3

The baby was born.
A healthy baby boy.
When Stephanie held him, she cried deeply.
Not tears of agreement.
Tears of possession.
Two weeks later, the naming ceremony was organized.
Families gathered,
Food was served.
Laughter filled the room.
Daniel stood proudly as a father at last.
Victoria felt relief.
She thought the storm had passed.
Then…
Stephanie stood up.
“I carried this child.”
Silence.
“If Victoria was never pregnant. I was.”
Gasps filled the room.
Daniel turned slowly to his wife.
“Tell me this isn’t true.”
Victoria’s tears answered him.
And then Stephanie delivered the final blow:
“If you need a woman who can truly give you children… I’m here.”
That was never help.
That was takeover.
Meetings were called.
Voices were raised.
Trust was shattered.
Daniel felt betrayed.
Not because of surrogacy.
But because of deception.
The room was silent
You could hear cutlery drop.
Stephanie stood there, calm.
Victoria was shaking.
Daniel looked from one woman… to the other.
“Tell me this isn’t true,” he said again.
Victoria cried.

THE PREGNANCY THAT WAS NEVER HERS
Part 2:

The clinic was private.
The agreement was silent.
The embryo transfer worked.
Stephanie got pregnant.
And Victoria began acting pregnant.
Loose dresses.
Careful walking.
Sudden cravings.
She avoided gatherings.
She complained about back pain.
She even staged maternity photos.
Daniel was glowing again.
He became affectionate.
Hopeful.
Proud.
For the first time in years, their home felt alive.
But while joy was growing in one house…
Attachment was growing in another.
Stephanie felt every kick.
Every movement.
Every scan.
At night, she would place her hand on her stomach and whisper,
“My baby.”
And something shifted.
Stephanie had always admired Daniel.
His calmness.
His stability.
His maturity.
She had attended their wedding smiling…
But deep down, she had wondered why Victoria got the man she couldn’t find.
Now she was carrying his child.
A dangerous thought began forming:
“Why should I give this baby away… and remain single?”
The envy she buried years ago…
Started breathing again...

🌟Do you think Stephanie planned this from the beginning?

“THE PREGNANCY THAT WAS NEVER HERS”
PART 1:

Marriage in our society is beautiful…
But it can also be heavy.
When Victoria married Daniel, their wedding was unforgettable.
He was responsible.
She was graceful.
They were admired.
For two years, nobody disturbed them.
Then the questions began.
“Any good news?”
“At least give him a child.”
“You don’t want the marriage to be shaking.”
At first, Victoria laughed it off.
By year four, hospital visits became routine.
By year five, prayer houses and midnight vigils became normal.
By year six, even distant relatives had opinions.
Daniel tried to stay strong.
But he became quieter.
More distant.
His mother started visiting more often.
Conversations about “the future” became tense.
Victoria felt like she was failing at something she couldn’t control.
Every baby shower felt like a reminder.
Every dedication service felt like pressure.
One night, after crying herself to sleep, she called the only person she trusted completely.
Her best friend. Stephanie.
Stephanie arrived with sympathy,With hugs.
With concern.
And then she said something unexpected:
“What if I carry the baby for you?”
Victoria froze.
“What do you mean?”
“Surrogacy. You don’t have to lose your marriage because of this.”
It sounded like sacrifice.
It sounded like loyalty.
It sounded like salvation.
And Victoria agreed.
Without telling her husband.

She chose secrecy over honesty.
