is unfortunate when public figures make serious allegations without presenting credible evidence to support their claims. If someone believes another person has committed wrongdoing, the proper place to prove it is in a court of law, not through media accusations.
The reported legal action by Mr. Peter Obi seeking compensation for alleged defamation shows that reputation matters and that individuals have the right to defend their names when they believe they have been falsely accused.
Now, Nigerians are watching closely. If the allegations are true, evidence should be presented before the court. If they are false, then those responsible should be held accountable for any damage caused to another person's reputation.
Our democracy must be built on facts, evidence, and responsible public discourse—not on unverified accusations.

EBONYI PEOPLE DESERVE A GOVERNOR, NOT A PUPPET!
A governor is elected to serve the people, not to serve a political godfather. When leaders spend more time pleasing the individuals who sponsored them than addressing the needs of ordinary citizens, the people become the victims.
The problem with godfather politics is that it takes power away from the people and places it in the hands of a few powerful individuals. Instead of independent leadership, we get leaders who are afraid to make decisions without seeking approval from their political masters.
Ebonyi State deserves leadership that listens to the voices of farmers, traders, students, workers, and traditional communities—not leadership that is controlled from behind the scenes.
Nigeria must move beyond the era where successors are handpicked and imposed on the people. Let candidates present themselves before the electorate and let the people decide who governs them.
No state belongs to a godfather. No governor should be anyone's servant except the people who elected him.
The future of our democracy depends on leaders who are accountable to the people and courageous enough to govern independently.
