At a point in the late 1980s, this iconic structure was Nigerias finest banking edifice.

The IMB Bank Plaza just by the Bar Beach, Victoria Island Lagos.

Whenever you drove past, you had to look at its beauty. You drove past 10 times, you just had to look 10 times.

Think I got inside just once back then. It was some marvelous structure.

I know you will ask me what happened to the building.

The view is south along Alli Street, Lagos. The church in the distance is the earlier Methodist Church of the Trinity, in Tinubu Square.

The building at the left with the sign on its side for "...ose Street" [i.e., Bambgose Street] is the Casa do Fernandez (later the Olaiya House, still later the Ilojo Bar; built 1855, demolished 2016)"
