Kogi State University Lecturer D+es in Hotel Room After ‘Working Out’ With A Student
A senior lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, has d+ed under controversial circumstances after a s+x¥al encounter with a 22-year-old 200-level student.
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, July 15, and was brought to the attention of the police the following day. Sources say the married lecturer, known for his stern academic stance and alleged s+x¥al exploitation of female students, checked into a hotel with a female student from the Department of Social Studies Education.
According to eyewitness accounts, Dr. Ibikunle consumed multiple energy drinks before the encounter. He reportedly sl¥mped during the act and was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced d+ad.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Kogi State Police Command, SP William Ovye Aya, told SaharaReporters that the student, identified as Gloria Samuel, has been taken into custody for further investigation.
“The manager of the hotel, Moses Friday, came to the Anyigba Police Station to report that a guest had sl¥mped after s+x with a student,” Aya said. “The DPO was immediately informed and moved to the scene. The lecturer was taken to the hospital, where a doctor confirmed his d+ath.”
Aya added that the student has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), where further investigations are ongoing. An autopsy has been conducted, but the results are yet to be released.
The tr+gic event has sparked conversations within the university community about alleged s+x¥al misconduct and ab¥se of power among academic staff.
