"It feels like I should flog myself for all the years that I was running business without learning all these simple computer skills.

I wish I can go back in time.
I wish I can scream aloud to all business owners.

It feels like no one is warning us loud enough.
It feels like someone should have slapped me really hard all those years.

I lost so much money because I focused on my food business without having basic digital skills.

I run a food business called Hadyz
Its been 3+ years of running Hadyz
I had never made more than 800k Naira monthly in sales until the past few months.

Hadyz runs a Restaurant where people walk in to buy and eat food.

The Restaurant was losing money daily because of many reasons - manual recordkeeping, wrong calculation of customer bills, theft and more

Immediately I deployed a simple retail software I learnt in Data-Entry Academy, the revenues grew overnight. I havent recovered from that shock.

Next was the Corporate Lunch boxes we serve to some companies. We just pack the food and drop off daily.

Then start chasing and chasing for our monies at month end.

Unknown to me, in one of the companies, a procurement staff was making and submitting fake invoices on our behalf, getting paid to some account and then paying us less money, claiming she was helping us keep the relationship.

I cried the day I realized that she just cashed in on the fact that I didn't read emails or make invoices.

I was running a purely manual business life and she took advantage.

Or it is the secondary schools where we provide catering services to their boarding students?

Every month, tedious reconciliation meetings to balance the amount of food we served versus what had been paid.

At most of those reconciliation meetings, we just had to accept their position and forfeit our monies, and move on.
