I've been pondering what to speak about, and this morning, as I woke up, I reflected on what I would do differently if I had the chance to live life over again.
What changes would I make?
Then in First Corinthians 7:29, I found a phrase that resonated deeply: 'The time is short.
Similarly, Ecclesiastes 12:1-7 reminds us to 'Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things, judgment is going to come to you. Therefore, remove sorrow from your heart, put away evil from your flesh for childhood and youth are very short and are vanity.'
Observing celebrities who were once youthful film stars, now bent with wrinkles and gray hair, serves as a stark reminder of life's brevity. I'm sure their teeth have worn down, and their eyesight has diminished. The same applies to us - our time is short.
Today is the firat day of August 2025, only a few months remain for this year to finish, it's clear how fast time flies.
The Bible echoes this sentiment, stating that our life span is mere handbreadths, 'Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee' (Psalm 39).
A thousand years are but yesterday in God's sight (Psalm 90:4), and 'one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day' (II Peter 3:8).
None of us will live a thousand years.
Isaiah 40:22 beautifully puts it: 'It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are like grasshoppers.' Psalm 102 reminds us that 'Our days are like a shadow that declineth, I am withered like grass.' God's eternity contrasts starkly with our mortality.
While God promises up to 70 years, only 30 years remain after accounting for childhood, sleep, and old age limitations. With 1,440 minutes in a day and 168 hours in a week, every moment counts.
God records our thoughts, words, and actions. James 4 aptly describes life as 'a v***r, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.'
Jesus invites us to come to Him through simple faith and repentance, saying, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me.' The path to heaven is narrow, but with Christ, we can walk it purposefully.
Happy New Month To Everyone!
