IF NOT FOR TRIBALISM, which sane person will listen to Tinubu and Peter Obi, and then choose to vote for Tinubu?
Don't misunderstand me; I don't mean that Tinubu is all shades of bad. Of course the man is a pacesetter in Nigerian politics.
The point I am making is on comparative analysis of the two candidates. Placing two candidates beside each other, one must edge out the other, even slightly.
And here, even at the risk of tribal backlash, I say with vehement conviction that Peter Obi edges Tinubu significantly. A typical Nigerian on the street knows this.
Unfortunately, tribalism has warped the mindset of most of us especially our Yoruba brothers. Everyone is now playing the politics of tribal loyalty; trying to outscore each other.
Competence and capacity has been relegated.
But the voice of truth continues to speak like the still small voice, innately trudging us to know that our choices ultimately determine our future and not the prayers we pray for good leaders.
Am I saying this because Peter Obi is my tribesman?
H3ll No!
Of course it is easy to color our vision in the lenses of ethnicity and tribalism. But in the end, our choices will determine our future.
