DESOPADEC: FROM GLORY TO SUFFERING - WHO WILL SPEAK FOR THE PEOPLE?

There was a time in Delta State…
A time when DESOPADEC worked.
A time when dignity was not a prayer point.

Under Emmanuel Uduaghan and Mr. Kpogho, DESOPADEC was not a begging ground.
You didn’t need to “know anybody” before you got paid.

Salaries came on time - even too early that staff joked the 16th was “too fast.”
13th month was paid without drama.
Projects moved. Hope was alive.

He even left ₦9 BILLION behind.

DESOPADEC was breathing… living… working.

Then came Okowa…
And suddenly - everything changed.

* Payments became selective
* Workers became beggars
* Transparency became a story we tell our children

Today, we shout about ₦1.3 TRILLION -
Have we asked ourselves… is this not DESOPADEC money?

Then came Governor Sheriff Oborevwori…
And instead of healing… things got worse.

He promised a committee on 13th month - nothing happened.
He raises his voice at everyone - but who will raise their voice for the suffering staff?

A system is collapsing before our eyes.

How do you explain this?

* A Governor commissions a shining NDDC office at Airport Road…
* Yet DESOPADEC in NPA looks abandoned and forgotten
The same NDDC they claim to “copy” -
But one is thriving while the other is dying.

Federal Government is funding NDDC…
But Delta State Government is strangling DESOPADEC.

* Staff are suffering
* Contractors are dying in debt
* Board members are tired
* Commissioners reduced to errand boys

What kind of system puts this much pressure on its own people?

* HODs sitting in power for 14 YEARS — against civil service rules
* A Director acting as MD while proper structure is ignored
* ₦3B released when far more is due
* Lists written in Asaba controlling everything

And yet…

They say DESOPADEC is not working.

How will it work when you are the one choking it?

You budget ₦2B for solar lights,
Build police stations and other projects…

But DESOPADEC staff are unpaid?

So let us ask the question boldly:

* If you can partner with NDDC…
* If you can commission their projects…

WHERE IS DESOPADEC MONEY?

DESOPADEC is not dead yet…
But it is gasping for air.

Let it breathe.
Let it function.
Let it serve the people it was created for.

Because history will remember this moment -
Whether we spoke up… or stayed silent.

Political Scorecard from Emmanuel Uduaghan ➡️ Ifeanyi Okowa ➡️ Sheriff Oborevwori

Deltans, let’s be honest with ourselves…
It has gone from bad ➡️ badder ➡️ baddest.

Uduaghan tried to sustain a system…
Okowa came and dismantled structures without a clear, sustainable blueprint…
Now Sheriff is trying to “manage” what is already broken - with no bold vision to rebuild it.

📉 Where are we today?

* No stable development blueprint
* Weak institutions
* Projects without continuity
* Youths disconnected from governance
* Oil-producing communities still struggling
* Political loyalty > competence

And the painful truth?
It’s the SAME political cycle, SAME system, SAME players - just different faces.

Deltans are not suffering because we lack resources…
We are suffering because the system keeps recycling itself.

⚠️ 2027 is not about APC or PDP.
⚠️ It is not about tribe or sentiment.
⚠️ It is about BREAKING a FAILED POLITICAL CYCLE.

We don’t need: ❌ Another godson
❌ Another “loyal boy”
❌ Another recycled politician

We need: ✅ A completely new mind
✅ A competent outsider
✅ A leader with a clear, practical blueprint
✅ Someone who will build SYSTEMS, not just share money

Because if we repeat the same pattern in 2027…
We should expect worse than “baddest.”

Deltans, the power is in your hands.
Reject the cycle. Reset the system.

2027 must be different.

It is Delta North’s cup of tea if they want Ifeanyi Okowa back in the Senate - but let’s be honest, that move would be a bigger slap on the faces of all Deltans.

If Okowa had simply improved on the blueprint of Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta State today would be competing with the very best across Nigeria. But NO - everything was dismantled without a clear plan.

Now Sheriff Oborevwori has stepped in… still no defined blueprint. Just vibes, pressure, and politics.

You want to shine, but your Oga is feeling uncomfortable?
Delta Central sees rapid bridge development - suddenly there’s alleged in-house tension demanding another bridge in Delta North… not planned, not needed, just politics as usual.

This is how systems keep failing - no continuity, no vision, just ego and control.

2027 is Deltans O’clock.
We will break this recycled cycle of PDP turned APC leadership failure.

Not until we completely implement the kind of zero-tolerance system seen in Japan and Singapore, where corruption by public officials - including serving Governors - is dealt with swiftly and decisively, we will keep making noise about corruption without ending it.

In those nations, the law is not afraid of power.
The system does not bow to status.
Accountability is not selective.

But here in Delta State and across Nigeria, we protect the powerful, negotiate justice, and recycle the same failed leaders - then act surprised that corruption keeps growing.

You cannot fight corruption with press statements.
You fight it with systems that punish without fear or favor.

Until then, it’s just talk.
And corruption will keep winning.

Nigeria deserves better. Delta State deserves better.

Lead with courage, not control from behind the curtain.

“Acting Governor” no fit you.

Let’s call it what it is -
You’ve failed Delta Central.
You’ve failed the oil-producing communities.
You’ve failed the youths.
And politically, you’ve failed woefully.

2027 is coming…
Okowa’s strategy will fail.
Your strategy will fail.

Deltans will take back their state.

The sin of Okowa is the sin of Governor Sheriff!

DESOPADEC has been choked for too long… and now it’s gasping for survival. This is not politics - this is the livelihood of Niger Delta people!

How do you starve an intervention agency meant to develop oil-producing communities… and expect peace, growth, and progress?

LET DESOPADEC BREATHE!

Enough of the control. Enough of the bottlenecks. Enough of the silence.

FUND DESOPADEC 💰
Communities are waiting. Projects are abandoned. Hope is fading.

PAY CONTRACTORS ⚒️
Men and women have invested their sweat, resources, and borrowed funds. Pay them what they are owed!

LET DESOPADEC RUN ITS PROJECTS INDEPENDENTLY 🏗️
Stop the interference. Development cannot happen under suffocation.

Delta State is too rich for this kind of neglect. The Niger Delta deserves better. Deltans deserve results - not excuses!

History is watching. The people are watching.

Do the right thing. Now.

DESOPADEC is now a shadow of itself 😥

There was a time when real impact could be felt… when development wasn’t just grammar but something the people could see and touch. Since the days of Governor Uduaghan and even back to Ibori, love them or hate them, Deltans could at least point to the dividends of democracy.

Today, what do we have?

DESOPADEC has been crippled. Contractors are not being paid. Many are stranded, abandoned, and frustrated. No serious financial institution will even look twice at a DESOPADEC contractor anymore—if contracts even still exist in reality.

The staff? They look like people forgotten in a wilderness… working without hope, without direction, without motivation. This is heartbreaking.

And yet, we are told openly that there is money in the state.

If there is money, then WHERE is the money?

It is becoming clearer by the day that this system is being deliberately starved… weakened so that no one has the capacity to stand, question, or challenge power ahead of the coming elections.

This is not governance. This is suppression.

Oh! 😭 I weep for DESOPADEC - the hope of the common man that has now been reduced to almost nothing.

Governor, hear the cry of the people: Pay all DESOPADEC contractors up to date.
Revive the system.
Award new contracts.
Let development breathe again.

Stop running a whole state like a personal operation allegedly. Delta State belongs to ALL of us.

History is watching. The people are watching.

If you have a private car or bus and you want to run transport business in Delta State, I bet you this will be the greatest mistake of your life.

You can stay in the motor park from morning till night and not be allowed to load even once.
But the chairman’s car or bus will go five to six times.
All the park executives will load before you.
If it finally reaches your turn… that’s by mercy, not by right.

This is not transport management.
This is transport slavery.

Governance in Delta State is very poor.
Agberos are more empowered than:

*Medical graduates
*Law graduates
*Education graduates
*Mechanical graduates

Agberos now:

*Collect taxes
*Control motor parks
*Rule towns
*Decide who works and who starves

If you oppose them, you’re looking for mass beating.
Simple.

And those Okowa police?
They are the biggest set of agberos in uniform.

Agberos are kings and hardworking citizens are beggars.

Is this the Delta State we want?
Where violence is rewarded and education is mocked?
Where hustle is punished and intimidation is promoted?

Many of those on this stage today will soon jump to another political party.
Some will contest - but not under the same platform.
Some will win -but not with the tickets they are holding now.

And for others…
This will be the end of their political journey.

Politics is not loyalty.
Politics is survival.
Politics is timing.

The reshuffle is coming.
The masks will fall.
The game will expose everyone.

2027 will separate:

* real contenders from pretenders
* structure from noise
* relevance from history
