ARE YOU CALLED, READ THIS:
Honor keeps the heart open while dishonour often closes it before truth is even heard.
One of the greatest keys to growth in the Kingdom is honour. Honour creates room for learning, impartation, and transformation. When a heart is honourable, it remains teachable. When dishonour enters, even truth can be rejected before it is properly considered.
Many people think honour is merely about manners or respect, but honour is a spiritual posture. It is the ability to recognise and value what God has placed in people, principles, and divine relationships. What you dishonour, you eventually lose access to.
Jesus performed many mighty works, yet in His hometown, familiarity gave birth to dishonour. The people could not receive from Him because they had already concluded they knew Him. Mark 6:4-5 reveals that dishonour can hinder what God desires to do in a person's life.
A proud heart is quick to criticise, dismiss, and judge. An honourable heart is willing to listen, learn, and discern. Many people miss divine opportunities because dishonour blinds them to what God is trying to communicate through others.
Ephesians 6:2 says, “Honour thy father and mother,” showing that honour is not merely cultural but biblical. Likewise, Romans 13:7 instructs believers to give honour where honour is due. Heaven places great value on this principle.
Dishonour often begins subtly through familiarity, offence, or unchecked pride. Once a man loses honour, he may still hear words, but he loses the ability to receive their full impact. Truth may be spoken clearly, yet the heart remains closed.
The men and women who grow deeply in God are often those who have learnt the mystery of honour. They honour God's Word, God's presence, and the vessels through whom God chooses to speak. Honour creates an atmosphere where wisdom can flourish.
Guard your heart against dishonour. Remain humble, teachable, and receptive. God often hides treasures in places pride would overlook. An honourable heart stays open to truth, and an open heart remains positioned for transformation.
