Do you know your worth and value?
Yesterday, my friend, Dr. Eromonsele Peter was trapped by the rain along Airport Road, Benin and he managed to get into a restaurant that conspicuously displayed a banner that the only condition for sitting in that restaurant is to buy something, so he ordered for a bottle of coke which was sold to him at N1,500.
At the same time, under the rain, I was I was enjoying the same bottle of coke which I bought for N450!
So, what was the difference?
There was no difference in the coke or content, but only the environment and the people marketing the coke.
The understood that people pay for perceived value!
Earlier on, I charged service fee of N2,000 per 1,000 WORDS to edit his book and today, I was looking at the price list a publishing company sent to me to have my books published and to edit the book was awesome!
The company was charging N30 per word!
This was the same editing that I asked my friend, Michael Billy Memesi to pay N2000 per 1,000 WORDS!
What is the difference?
Value.
Most people are afraid to charge for their real value because they feel it would be too expensive, and people will not pay.
I have developed capacity to the extent that I should be charging for my time, I don't care what you think about that.
Yesterday, someone sent me a WhatsApp message that he would want to see me and share some thoughts with, and I said that will cost you money and he responded, "...hmmmn!"
He is probably seeing it as strange.
I told him that I will have to suspend all my money-making activities in order to attend to him, if I don't make money to pay my daily rising bills, who will pay it?
See, learn to value your worth and set a price on it!
