The ENG 115 Theatre Workshop presentation of Femi Osofisan’s Once Upon Four Robbers came alive through the outstanding performances of the 100L students of the Department of English and Literary Studies, Federal University Wukari.

MEET OUR TAHRIFF 2026 AMBASSADOR

Grace Zaman

Author • Poet • Youth Leader

Grace Zaman is a 17-year-old author and poet from Chibok, Borno State, Nigeria, whose life reflects courage, excellence, and hope.

She graduated with outstanding distinction, earning recognition as the Best Overall Graduating Student, Best Student in English, and Best Student in Science—a remarkable achievement that speaks to her dedication, discipline, and academic excellence.

As a passionate writer, Grace believes in the power of words to inspire change, promote peace, and defend human dignity. Through her poetry and creative expression, she gives voice to young people and encourages them to dream beyond their circumstances.

Grace proudly serves as a TAHRIFF 2026 Ambassador, joining the movement to champion children's rights, education, creativity, peace, and cultural dialogue through the transformative power of film and the arts.

She looks forward to pursuing a degree in Physiotherapy, with a vision of combining healthcare, compassion, and leadership to improve lives and build stronger communities.

11 Years Without Light.

Imagine a child born in Miango who has never known what it means to switch on a light bulb at home.

This is not fiction. It is a reality.

Set in Miango Community, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, this comedy uses laughter to confront a painful truth. Behind the humour lies a powerful story about justice, accountability, community, and the everyday struggles of ordinary Nigerians.

When a community sought to take responsibility for its own electricity by dealing directly with the distribution company, an unexpected battle began—one that has left generations growing up in darkness.

Dedicated to the children of Miango, whose dreams should never be limited by the absence of electricity.

Congratulations to Producer Engr Abba Sambo Friday and Director Bitrus Izhi Adamu on the Official Selection of this important film at the Taraba Human Rights International Film Festival (TAHRIFF) 2026.

At TAHRIFF, we believe that cinema can illuminate the realities too often left in the dark.

Hello everyone,

My name is Dominic T. Naomi. I am 15 years old, an author, a child rights advocate, and I am honoured to serve as an Ambassador for the Taraba Human Rights International Film Festival (TAHRIFF) 2026.

I believe that every child has a voice, every child has a dream, and every child deserves the opportunity to learn, create, and thrive.

I was born into a family that reflects the beauty of Nigeria's diversity, and through my love for reading, writing, and speaking up for children, I have come to understand that our differences are our strength. They remind us that peace begins when we choose to understand and respect one another.

My dream is to become a Human Rights Lawyer, so I can defend the rights of children, stand for justice, and help build a society where no child is denied education, safety, dignity, or the freedom to dream.

Today, many children around the world are affected by conflict, poverty, displacement, violence, and inequality. Some have lost access to education, while others face dangers that no child should ever experience. But I believe that hope is stronger than fear, and creativity is stronger than despair.

That is why I am proud to stand with TAHRIFF 2026, whose theme is:

"Global Conflicts and the Right of a Creative Child in a Digital Universe."

Together, we can create a future where technology empowers children, education reaches every community, and creativity becomes a bridge to peace and opportunity.

I invite parents, teachers, young people, filmmakers, policymakers, development partners, and child advocates across Africa and the world to join us in this movement.

Let us raise our voices for every child who dreams of a better tomorrow.

Because every child has a right to dream, create, and thrive.
