After bathing and dressing the kids for school, I fed them, then started arranging their lunch boxes.
I brushed their hair and applied lip gloss to their lips.
Then we said our morning prayers.
Exactly 6:40am, we were set to get into the car, then I went in to bring their school shoes and socks.
This was where the problem started, I only found Zara’s shoes in the room but I couldn't find Zoey’s shoes, How come?
I cleaned and polished the shoes last night before going to bed, so where is Zoey’s shoe?
I came out of the room with Zara shoes, wore them for her, then I asked her if she saw Zoey’s shoes and she said no but she would help me look for them.
Fiam, we moved into action, Zara and I turned the house upside down and our madam Zoey, the almighty second daughter of the universe, the one Zobam Vivienne keeps defending, just sat down and was singing her nursery rhymes loudly.
The shoe search wasn't her business but she was sure she wouldn't go to school without them.
Zara and I bent down to search under all the chairs but the shoes weren't there, We searched the dining area, rooms, bathroom and even the laundry basket but the shoes weren't there:
We were tired and time was against us.
Zara said, “Mommy, wear Zoey any black shoe, so we can go”.
I said okay and went into their room and brought out Zara’s old Cortina shoes, the ones she wore when she was Zoey’s age, the leather has peeled off a little in the front but we had to manage it that way.
I polished it properly and wore it for Zoey.
At 6:55am, we were already on our way to school.
I dropped them off at school and drove back home.
All the stress and panic of looking for Zoey’s shoes got me dehydrated, I opened my fridge to take cold water to drink and guess what?
Just guess?
Zoey’s school shoes were in the fridge.
She put the shoes and some of her pants in the fridge.
Zoey this thing you're doing to me, is it good?
Why are second daughters like this?
