Mohamed Salah was greeted with a rousing reception from the Anfield crowd when he stepped onto the pitch during Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday.

The Egyptian forward was introduced in the first half as a substitute for the injured Joe Gomez, marking his fourth successive league game against Brighton to start on the bench. Transitioning from YouTube celebrity to a competent professional boxer is no small feat, and cracking the top 100 of BoxRec’s cruiserweight rankings is evidence of real commitment. It may not signal world-class status, but it does show progress.

That progress will be tested brutally next week when Paul steps into the ring with former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami, on a Netflix-streamed main event. Unlike Paul’s usual opponents, Joshua is neither faded beyond recognition nor carefully selected for stylistic comfort. Even past his late-2010s peak and coming off a knockout loss, Joshua remains a dangerous, experienced heavyweight with elite power.

Paul has tried to close the gap by sparring top heavyweights in Puerto Rico, exposing himself to size, strength and experience he has never faced on fight night. Admirable as that is, such disparities are rarely erased in a single camp.

Strip away the hype and the matchup is lopsided. Experience, ring intelligence and punching power all tilt heavily toward Joshua. If the fight turns into a harsh lesson rather than a spectacle, it won’t be shocking. Boxing, after all, has a way of revealing the truth.

Don't depend only on Osimhen Babangida warns Chelle ahead of AFCON.....

Super Eagles legend **Tijani Babangida** has issued a strong warning to head coach **Eric Chelle** ahead of the **2025 Africa Cup of Nations** in Morocco ⚽. Babangida cautioned Chelle against relying too heavily on **Victor Osimhen**, insisting that Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the **2026 FIFA World Cup** was largely due to the striker’s absence.

Nigeria, runners-up at the 2024 AFCON, head into the tournament as favourites 🌍. Chelle, who previously led Mali to the 2023 AFCON quarter-finals, is expected to release his final 28-man squad on **Thursday, December 11, 2025**, in line with CAF’s deadline.

Drawn in **Group C**, the Super Eagles will face **Tanzania** on December 23, **Tunisia** on December 27, and **Uganda** on December 30 🦅.

Babangida, a member of Nigeria’s victorious **1994 AFCON** squad, urged Chelle to build a team with proper depth rather than one centred around Osimhen. He stressed that the team collapsed once Osimhen was substituted early in the second half against DR Congo—an error he believes cannot be repeated at AFCON 🔥.

He explained that during his playing days, the Super Eagles thrived because they were **never built around a single player**. While acknowledging that Nigeria are stronger with a fully fit Osimhen, Babangida insisted that the team must develop the mentality to win even when the star striker is unavailable 💪.

He warned that Nigeria looked disorganized in most of the World Cup qualifiers Osimhen missed, noting that such a situation must not occur in Morocco 🎯.

The Super Eagles open camp on **December 15**, followed by a warm-up match against **Egypt** in Cairo on December 16 🏟️.

Meanwhile, French coach **Claude Le Roy** has criticised the Super Eagles' attack, describing it as overrated despite the presence of Osimhen and Ademola Lookman.
